Tracy Lawrence has helped prepare thousands of meals for his neighbors in need since 2006 through his Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Concert, benefiting the Nashville Rescue Mission. The event helps feed homeless men, women and children, as well as raises money for the organization. During the past 14 years, Tracy has helped fry nearly 6,000 turkeys to provide more than 84,000 meals… and he’s raised more than $500,000 for the Nashville Rescue Mission.

This year’s sold-out concert featured Tracy with his friends Clay Walker, Justin Moore, Rhett Akins, and Halfway to Hazard. They performed “in the round” with each artist delivering one song at time, allowing for ample conversation, camaraderie, and antics between songs. Tracy’s laid-back vibe set the tone for the night, full of laughter and sincere admiration for all of the artists on stage.

One of the most poignant moments was Tracy’s performance of “You Find Out Who Your Friends Are.” There was a palpable sense of gratitude in the room, realizing that we are incredibly blessed to be in a position to be that friend to people in need.

In between sets, there were live auctions of exclusive experiences and items, including a guitar signed by all of the performers.

Clay Walker drew some of the biggest reactions from the crowd, including a standing ovation after his powerful performance of “This Woman and This Man,” a soulful ballad that showcases his vocal strength.

Justin Moore, who will be joining Tracy for the “Late Nights and Longnecks Tour” in 2020, was right at home sitting between Rhett Akins and Tracy. Rhett has written several hits for Justin, including “Point at You.”

Rhett Akins, songwriter extraordinaire, treated fans to his 1995 hit “That Ain’t My Truck” as well as his contemporary cuts by artists like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Blake Shelton.

The energetic duo Halfway to Hazard rounded out the featured guests, bringing a southern rock edge to the lineup.

The biggest surprise of the night came at the end, when Tracy invited Randy Travis on stage. The featured artists performed “Forever and Ever, Amen” for Randy, who grinned from ear to ear while standing with Tracy.
