Ingrid Andress joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music to chat about her new song “Waste of Lime” and calls it “probably the happiest song I’ve ever written”.

The “Up Next” artist tells Apple Music about how she’s navigating 2020, what inspired the title of her new song, maintaining creativity during quarantine, striving for equality in country music, why the genre missed out on a big moment with Lil Nas X, connecting with fans during COVID-19, and more.

Ingrid Andress Tells Apple Music About Naming The Song “Waste of Lime,’

“It actually came from a writing retreat that I did for myself, with my friends in LA and there was a lot of tequila involved. And we woke up one morning and all these lime wedges were like scattered on the counter – I looked at it, I was like, “Oh man, what a waste of lime.” And then we all were just like “Lime, just like waste of time.” Yeah. Well, that’s how it started. And we were just like … So we opened another bottle of tequila and started writing Waste Of Lime.”
