Cody Purvis to Premiere “Boots on the Ground- Acoustic” Performance Video

Cody Purvis

Country newcomer, Cody Purvis, hit a new milestone last week, surpassing EIGHT MILLION streams since hitting the Top-50 Billboard Indicator chart in mid-February with his playful, boozy single, “Drinkin’ Terms.” This news comes as Purvis prepares to premiere the title track performance video of his latest project, BOOTS ON THE GROUND–ACOUSTIC, which will air tomorrow, (Friday, June 5) beginning at 11 a.m. CST) exclusively on The Country Note.

Purvis had counted on his single’s success to give him the momentum to release new music this summer, but when those plans were thwarted due to the pandemic, the 6′ 6″ baritone instead decided to release a special, acoustic version of his successful EP, BOOTS ON THE GROUND–ACOUSTIC, and donate a portion of the proceeds from the title track to a COVID-19 musicians’ relief fund. BOOTS ON THE GROUND–ACOUSTIC, available through all digital outlets now. For more information on Cody Purvis and this project, please visit

“This definitely isn’t what I saw us doing right now, but we enjoyed revisiting the project in a way that nobody was expecting. The stripped-down version of BOOTS ON THE GROUND is definitely fitting for the times when our community is still very much locked down,” says Cody.

The “Boots on the Ground–Acoustic” performance video is the second of two videos released in support of the stripped-down single–the first was a lyric video which featured fan-submitted photos of “hometown heroes” who were working at the peak of the COVID health crisis. Fans can watch that video HERE. There are four additional performance videos in support of the remaining tracks on the acoustic EP, each shot in different rooms of Purvis’ Tennessee home, that will be released in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for further announcements by visiting or by following him via his socials: FacebookTwitterInstagramSnapchat, and YouTube.

“We had a lot of fun with this project.” says Purvis. “It was nice to be able to take a little break from all the craziness in the world to record these videos around the house. We even got a chance to move outside so I could give y’all a good look at my cool Jeep.”
