Chart-topping Country stars Little Big Town, the GRAMMY-winning group behind beloved hits such as “Girl Crush,” “Pontoon,” and “Better Man,” sit down with Dan Rather on The Big Interview—airing Wednesday, November 6 at 8pE/5pP.

In this exclusive first look, group members Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild, and Phillip Sweet discuss their practice of not making any decisions unless they can do it unanimously. Though it may seem difficult to get four people on the same page at the same time, the quartet have developed what they describe as a “collective gut,” which has successfully seen them through over 20 years in the music industry.

Schlapman explains, “We either all have the same feeling this is the right thing to do, and often the gut says this is the wrong thing to do. If we’re not all collective in that, we don’t do it. We move on to the next opportunity or the next song.” Built very much like a family unit, the group prides themselves on their ability to nurture each other and give each member a chance to showcase their artistry. “We always said we would check our ego at the door when we started this band, and we did that,” Sweet says. “I feel like I’m so rewarded, artistically, by being able to not only create things that I dream individually, but the things we collectively work on together. That’s what I really love about working with these guys.” Watch it here.

The Big Interview airs every Wednesday at 8pE/5pP, only on AXS TV. Next week, Dan Rather sits down with award-winning sportscaster Bob Costas on Nov. 13.
