The music and entertainment show will feature All-4-One, CeeLo Green, Dirty Heads, Big & Rich, Don McLean, Sublime w/Rome, Travis Tritt, Rick Springfield, Gretchen Wilson and Lonestar performing their most impactful songs, along with the incredible songwriters behind these massive hits revealing the true stories behind some of the biggest songs in contemporary music history. Viewers will also be treated to newly written and recorded material in this must-see series.

Of the roughly 25 recordings featured in the first season of “The Song,” four have earned GRAMMY wins including Record of the Year (Crazy/CeeLo Green); Best Rock Vocal Performance, Male (Jessie’s Girl/Rick Springfield); Best Country Female Vocal Performance (Redneck Woman/Gretchen Wilson); and Best Pop Vocal Performance By A Duo Or Group (I Swear/All-4-One.) The artists represented on “The Song” have scored a total of 10 GRAMMY wins from over 50 nominations representing R&B, Rock, Pop, Urban/Alternative, Country and more.

Executive producers Marc Oswald and Cary Glotzer will be joined by award-winning director Trey Fanjoy to create nine 30-minute fast-paced episodes and a one-hour “Best of The Song” finale for season one. Each episode will center around a specific hit song and will be filmed at TGL Farms, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Gray Television will premier the series, which will be presented by Ally and Nashville Music City, the week of January 4, 2020 on its major network affiliated stations across America.

Pat LaPlatney, Co-CEO & President of Gray Television says:

“Our extensive TV station group is extremely privileged to be the launch platform for Season One of “The Song” series starting in national syndication this January. Highlighting some of most famous hit songs and artists of all-time will create compelling content for viewers of all ages.”

In-depth conversations with the artists and songwriters will reveal the inspiration, journey and evolution from the creation of a song to becoming engrained in the musical hearts of fans worldwide. An intimate performance recorded in front of a small audience inside the exquisite TGL Farms stable will be a highlight of the show.

“The Song – Recorded Live at TGL Farms” pays it forward through cause-related partnerships with The Songwriters Hall of Fame and Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business to provide both scholarship and internship opportunities for their outstanding programs and to help develop new talent in the music, media and television arts disciplines. For additional information, visit thesong.tv.
