SESAC and ASCAP and a host of music industry friends and family packed The Sutler on Monday, Sept. 9, to celebrate the success of Curb recording artist and SESAC songwriter Lee Brice’s 6th #1 single, “Rumor.” Co-writers on the song include ASCAP songwriters Ashley Gorley and Kyle Jacobs.

Brice and Jacobs were also producers on “Rumor,” and joined Dan Frizsell and Jon Stone to produce the song, which hit the top of the country charts after 43 weeks. “Rumor” was RIAA certified platinum two weeks after the song hit #1 and has received over 300 million streams worldwide. It’s also the highest charting song of Brice’s career, peaking at 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On hand to honor the group was Shannan Hatch (SESAC), Beth Brinker(ASCAP), Janine Ebach (Curb|Word), Colt Murski (Curb|Word), Penny Gattis (Round Hill), Chris Van Belkom (Combustion), and Ryan Beuschel(Warner Chappell). From Curb Records, RJ Meacham, Ryan Dokke, and Mike Curb all said a few words to honor the group. Additional presentations were given by Sherod Robertson (MusicRow), and RJ Curtis (Country Radio Broadcasters).
