LISTEN: “Shady Ladies of Music City” Podcast Records Live Finale Episode with Jason Owen and Shane McAnally

(L-R: Monument Co-President Jason Owen, Martina McBride, Evelyn Shriver, Monument SVP Katie McCartney, Susan Nadler, Monument Co-President Shane McAnally)

The “Shady Ladies of Music City ” podcast capped off a hilarious, and successful, first season with a finale party and live taping at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum last week.

Hosts Susan Nadler and Evelyn Shriver shared the stage with Monument co-presidents, and future “Shady Ladies of Music City,” Shane McAnally and Jason Owen, as they traded industry stories.

Making the night even more special, longtime friend Martina McBride was there to introduce the hosts, and warn the crowd that “the Shady Ladies of Music City podcast is not suitable for children…but then again, neither is the music industry.”

From arrests in Mexico and selling popcorn in Key West, FL, to winning Grammy’s with George Jones and leading the charge on artist careers such as Randy Travis and Tammy Wynette, the night was never short on laughs as Susan and Evelyn kept the crowd engaged with their trademark whit and hilarity.

As two industry vets themselves, Owen and McAnally could hardly stop laughing to ask the ladies questions, and field some of their own from the live audience.

With episodes out every Tuesday since its launch in June, Shady Ladies of Music City has covered topics such as county music politics, Susan and Evelyn’s time as the first ever females to run a Nashville record label at Asylum Records, and their time on the tour busses of Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette, and so many more legendary acts. Season 1 is available in its entirety everywhere podcasts can be heard.
