New and Noteworthy: Hayden Haddock

Hayden Haddock

Rising Red Dirt singer-songwriter Hayden Haddock is quickly becoming an artist you need to know. With more than 100 tour dates per year across Texas and surrounding states, Haddock’s lead-off radio single, “She Don’t Know It Yet” from his debut album First Rodeo, quickly climbed the Texas charts with his follow-up track, “Everywhere I Need To Be” debuting on the charts in the Top 40.

Not only is Haddock touring extensively, but his debut album has quickly amassed more than 300K streams on Spotify. Haddock is currently working with hit producer/songwriter Trent Willmon (Cody Johnson, Eric Church, Randy Houser) on his sophomore album due out late this year and writing with No. 1 songwriters including John Pierce (Zac Brown Band, Chris Young), Tommy Karlas (Randy Travis, Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry) and Jim Collins (Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean).

Haddock, who has shared the stage with Whiskey Myers, Casey Donahew, Cory Morrow and the Eli Young Band, performs every weekend in Texas and surrounding states. The hardworking, 20-year-old artist also has multiple TV appearances under his belt including ABC Dallas’ Good Morning Texas, CBS Austin’sWe Are Austin, FOX 7 Austin’s Music In The Morning, San Antonio’s Great Day SA, Colorado’s Good Morning Vail, Las Vegas’ MORE FOX5, WSMV’s Today In Nashvilleand CBS Bryan-College Station’s Free Music Friday

Haddock’s road to pursuing music was not the traditional one. At a young age, Haddock discovered his love for music, but it was not until he attended an Eric Church concert at the age of 14, that he decided to pick up a guitar. Haddock continued to write songs and play guitar thoughout his teen years and was accepted into the prestigious Texas A&M University as a Construction Science major. After performing a song in the confines of his college dorm for his roommates, one friend secretly captured it on video, uploaded it to YouTueb and shared it with their peers. The overwhelming response to the video made Haddock devide it was time to pursue a career in country music.

Haddock’s musical influences are deeply rooted in his home state of Texas by artists such as George Strait, Cody Johnson, Luke Combs, Jon Pardi and Eric Church. Some may be surprised to find out that Haddock is only 20-years-old as he has a musical instinct well beyond his years. Having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age, Haddock works with several organizations to help spread awareness of the disease and is an advocate/speaker for JDRF.

Hayden tells CMTT, “The goal for my music as a whole is to help keep real country music alive. If you like good oltwo stepping country music I think you will like my brand of country music!”
