WATCH: Hannah Bethel’s Emotionally Charged ‘Rhinestone Rodeo’ Music Video

Hannah Bethel

In the visually engaging clip directed by Dawson Waters, Hannah Bethel is showcased dressed in all-white Western-inspired attire and backed by her band in a live performance setting at the historic Springwater Lounge in Nashville. Having literally grown up on stages across America, Bethel is completely at home there as she intimately connects with the viewer and tells the compelling story of her highly personal and autobiographical song “Rhinestone Rodeo.” Her soothing, yet powerful vocal is mixed with personal flashbacks from her life in music, and when combined, they make for a heart-tugging and powerful statement about the depth of her artistry and passion for her music.

“Having the support of my friends at CMT is a literal dream come true,” says Bethel. “I grew up watching CMT and hoping against hope that I would see myself on that screen one day. I am so honored and so grateful.”

“Rhinestone Rodeo” was co-written by Bethel, Tiffany Goss and Nicole Witt of Farewell Angelina, and released at the end of May. The early critical acclaim has been strong. Billboard praised the song and the songstress by stating, “Hannah Bethel’s ethereal vocals and universal storytelling are at the heart of her new song ‘Rhinestone Rodeo.'”The Country Note added, “Hannah Bethel is equal parts vulnerability and strength, which makes her a force to be reckoned with in country music. The seemingly simplistic melody of her new song, ‘Rhinestone Rodeo,’ only enhances the more complicated and emotional ties that come when pursuing a risky chase, as the storyline suggests. With three female powerhouse writers behind the ballad, the slowly disappearing art of eloquently painting a detailed picture reemerges as a must in today’s listening world.”The Boot named “Rhinestone Rodeo” one of 10 New Songs You Need To Hear and it is included on several playlists, including Spotify’s CMT Music and CMT Next Women of Country and on Apple Music CMT Next Women of Country.

“Rhinestone Rodeo” made its radio debut with Bill Cody on WSM 650 AM/Heartland TV’s Coffee, Country and Cody. Bethel’s recent media appearances and interviews have also included Today in Nashville with Devon O’Day, Nashville Access, Think Country, The Country Note, NYCountry Swagand an upcoming morning show performance on WSMV’s Nashville Today with Kelly Sutton and Carole Sullivan.

Two descriptions consistently come up when reviewers are writing about Bethel and “Rhinestone Rodeo”: The first is that she is a “storyteller” of the first class, and secondly, that her voice sounds “ethereal” in her delicate, yet powerful vocal delivery of the song. Both are spot on. Like a modern day troubadour, Bethel writes from the depths of relatable real life stories and emotions, from raw and heartbroken, to happiness and joyous rapture. And while her voice is angelic and otherworldly, she is at once firmly rooted in reality and also keenly in tune with her inner “voice” and the forces of the natural world around her. Practicing yoga and being a certified Reiki practitioner helps her maintain her calm, happy demeanor, and center of balance as an independent performing artist and entrepreneur in a very competitive space.

Bethel is currently on her national “Rhinestone Rodeo Tour,” which over the past several weeks has taken her to shows in The Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, New York City, Connecticut, Kentucky, multiple appearances in Nashville and two festival performances in Alaska.
