Jack Ingram is “Ridin’ High…Again” With New Album

With the release of his 10th studio album, Riding High…again!, Texas roots singer/songwriter Jack Ingram released a fierce and reverent video for “Desperados Waiting For The Train,” shot at Arlyn Studios, where the album was recorded. The Austin American Statesman debuted the video as Mack Brown, Jack Ingram, and Matthew McConaughey kicked off their 7th annual MACK, JACK, AND MCCONAUGHEY benefit in Austin with two days of golf and two nights of music – Chris Stapleton (4/25) and Jack & Friends (4/26) with Wade Bowen, Jon Randall, Butch Walker, Holly Williams, Jessi Alexander, John Fullbright, and Scott Stapp.

Ranging from rowdy to reverent, Ridin’ High…again!’s first single, “Where There’s a Willie (there’s a Waylon)” debuted as the greatest spin gainer on the CDX Traction Chart on the Texas Regional Radio Report. The tongue in cheek tune (lyrics below), along with “Desperados,” are IG tracks for fans who pre-order.

In addition to Guy Clark’s “Desperados…,” the album includes Kris Kristofferson’s “Jesus Was a Capricorn,” Willie Nelson’s “Gotta Get Drunk,” and songs by Hayes Carll, Rusty Weir, and Keith Gattis. The other half are Ingram’s own, including co-writes with long-time collaborator and award-winning songwriter/musician Jon Randall Stewart, Todd Snider, and Miranda Lambert (including the 2018 Academy of Country Music’s Song of the Year, “Tin Man,” written by Ingram, Lambert, and Stewart).

The album title is a tip-of-the-hat to Jerry Jeff Walker’s classic album, Ridin’ High and it is Jack’s first release since the acclaimed, Americana-tinged Midnight Motel.
