Devin Dawson Releases Official “Dark Horse” Music Video

Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Devin Dawson returned to the “scene of the crime” Monday afternoon to celebrate the official “Dark Horse” music video launch (WATCH HERE). Dawson invited fans and industry alike to Warren Paint & Color Company where the video was filmed, unveiling it to attendees for the first time followed by a surprise live performance of the single itself. Directed by Justin Clough, the black and white video made its exclusive broadcast premiere on CMT as well.

Co-written by Dawson, Andy Albert and Andrew DeRoberts, “Dark Horse” has been called “a moody and confident stunner” by MusicRow who also asserted that the “poignant and potent” song demands “your undivided attention.” American Songwriter described the tune as “raw and deeply personal” while People applauded its ability to stay “true to country’s roots even as it stretches beyond them.”

“Dark Horse” is the third single and title track off his critically-acclaimed debut LP, which was named one of 2018’s best country albums by Esquire, Rolling Stone and Billboard. Called “one of country music’s most tender and articulate wordsmiths” by The Tennessean, Dawson co-wrote every song on the album, which arrived at Top 3 and Top 5 on Billboard’s Country Albums Charts.

The California native wrapped his headlining “Stray Off Course Tour” this past weekend in Medina, OH, and he will make a trip overseas in the spring for shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He will then return to the US for shows across the country, including major festivals such as Stagecoach (see a full list of tour dates HERE).
