Kalie Shorr, one of Nashville’s hottest up-and-coming artists, was recently featured on NPR’s Morning Edition in a piece titled “Female Country Music Singers in Nashville Navigate Gender Bias To Be Heard”. The seven-minute segment, premiered on Dec. 26, focuses on Shorr’s journey through the Nashville music industry and how she and other women in country music are fighting and overcoming gender bias. The feature also includes commentary from CMT Senior Vice President of Music Strategy Leslie Fram, Shorr’s manager and Song Suffragettes founder, Todd Cassetty, and fellow Song Suffragettes Chloe Gilligan and Regan Stewart.

Says Shorr, “It’s great to wrap up 2018 with people saying nice things about your music but it’s even better to be a part of conversations that will hopefully encourage positive change. I’m excited about more conversations – and new music – in 2019!”

Shorr was also featured in one of NPR’s “Best Music of 2018” stories with author and acclaimed music reporter Jewly Hight spotlighting her latest EP Awake: “Awake, with its moments of angsty disclosure and cutting emoguitar riffs, prioritized personal authenticity over country radio-friendliness.“ Read that story here as well as the mention Shorr receives in Slate’s series called “The Music Club, 2018”, here.

Kalie Shorr just wrapped headlining the 2018 “Road To The CMA Awards” Tour, visiting Walmarts across the U.S. to promote the 52nd annual CMA Awards. She also co-hosts daily segments on Radio Disney Country called “Let The Girls Play” with fellow artist Savannah Keyes. You can find Shorr’s music on Apple MusicSpotify, and Amazon Music. As tour dates continue to be announced, you can stay current with Kalie on InstagramTwitter and Facebook. Be sure to follow her on Youtube and visit www.kalieshorr.com.
