With a demolition as his backdrop in the official music video for his brand new song “Gone Enough,” available now (listen HERE), William Michael Morgan sings about the emotional destruction surrounding a lost relationship. People called the string-laden country tune, written by hit-makers Jon Nite, Ross Copperman and Shane McAnally, a “driving heart-wrencher” (read HERE) and premiered the fourth video in the series of linked visuals this morning (watch HERE).

“Sometimes after a breakup it feels like you could get in the darkest room, drink the strongest drink, drive the longest road, but you’re not gonna get gone enough to get gone from the person who isn’t there anymore,” said Morgan. “I want to bring that honesty about tough times to my music.”

The up-and-coming country star has been singing his truth over the last few months of 2018, drawing praise from fans and critics alike. He penned his most recent release, “Talking To A Girl,” alongside Bobby Pinson and Shane Minor (listen HERE). The “hopeful ballad” (The Boot) about learning to move forward and open up again after heartbreak pairs with a video that builds a home – literally – around him (watch HERE).

MusicRow described Morgan’s tongue-in-cheek track “Brokenhearted” (listen HERE) as “a real cool honky tonker” and suggested that listeners should “two-step across the dancefloor as he sings about the lack of heartache in today’s party-hearty country sound.” It was also named one of Rolling Stone’s “10 Best Country Songs of the Week” upon its debut. His romantic tune “Tonight Girl” (listen HERE) received praise from Taste of Country, who declared him in “a league of his own” with “velvety-smooth vocals” that “stay with the listener.” The tune earned spots on top playlists upon release, including Spotify’s New Boots and Next From Nashville, Apple Music’s Breaking Country and Best of the Week and Pandora’s New Country Now. Morgan’s new music builds on the success of his rising young career. He earned a No. 1 single with his Gold-certified debut, “I Met A Girl,” which Rolling Stone described the tune as a “laid-back ode to the joy of romantic discovery.” It was named one of NPR Music’s Top 100 Songs of 2016 and paved the way for his album Vinyl to debut Top 5 on the Billboard Country albums chart, earning widespread critical acclaim in the process. Morgan has a voice that “resonates with the flawless timbre of someone who has been singing country music for decades beyond his years” (Pandora).

One of the 2017 CRS New Faces of Country Music, Morgan has already accumulated nearly 80 million on-demand streams. He recently wrapped a summer of fair and festival performances across the nation, and he will continue touring with select dates through the end of the year.
