Willie Nelson’s Reserve Arrives in Maryland

Willie’s Reserve – the line of premium cannabis products founded by music legend and lifelong marijuana activist/connoisseur Willie Nelson – is pleased to announce that, beginning October 6, its products will be available in the state of Maryland.

Significantly, this marks Willie’s Reserve’s debut in a medical-only cannabis market. Currently, Maryland residents must have a valid doctor’s recommendation in order to buy products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the cannabinoid that produces the “high” typically associated with marijuana use. Willie has sung the praises of the plant’s potential for a myriad of benefits – recreational, industrial and medicinal – for decades.

In addition to the first medical market, Maryland is also the first east coast cannabis market for the brand. Since 2016, Willie’s Reserve has been building momentum in the adult-use cannabis market. By blending Willie’s reputation as a steadfast supporter and benevolent outlaw with consistently high quality, hand-selected products from local producers, the brand has grown to offering product in six states and is currently available at more than 400 stores across the country.

In a New York magazine feature, journalist Wil S. Hylton explained the philosophy behind Willie’s Reserve: “[Willie] really hadn’t started the company for his own amusement, or to make money, of which he has plenty. The truth was that he wanted to preserve his legendary stash-to keep it clean, keep his growers in business.”

Willie’s Reserve’s initial offerings in this new territory highlight the brand’s CBD/THC Ratio products, which contain varying proportions of THC and another prominent cannabinoid, the non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD). Since THC and CBD have been shown to work together and moderate each other, some consumers find them to be well-suited for therapeutic uses.

Willie’s Reserve products are grown in Maryland by Culta (www.culta.io), a leading medical cannabis company, located in Cambridge, Maryland, a farming community on the Choptank River of the Chesapeake Bay. “Adding Willie’s Reserve as an option will only increase the number of patients we can serve and increase the number of people we can employee in Cambridge,” said Mackie Barch, president of Culta. “It’s also an honor. Willie’s reputation for standing up for the plant, farming communities like Cambridge and for veterans are commitments we share.”

Willie’s Reserve will be sold as Ready Roll joints and packaged flower at Culta’s Baltimore medical dispensary as well as at Charm City Medicus (Baltimore), Storehouse Dispensary (Baltimore), Positive Energy (Ocean City), Chesapeake Apothecary (White Plains), Kannavis (Ijamsville) and other leading dispensaries across the state.
