10 Quick Quirky Questions CMA Fest Edition with Jordan Rager

  1. Did you ever attend CMA Fest as a fan?  If yes, when?
Yes, my mom and I came as fans for the whole experience 3 straight years (2010-2012)
  2. Favorite Honky Tonk on Broadway? – AJ’s Good Time Bar
  3. Craziest thing a fan has ever asked you to autograph?  I pulled a Ricky Bobby once and signed a baby, per request of the baby’s mother. True story
  4. Has a fan ever showed you a tattoo related to you or your music?  I actually have seen a couple of people get my logo tattooed on their body
  5. If you could pick anyone to perform with you at CMA Fest who would it be?  Jason Aldean and I have never had the opportunity to perform our song “Southern Boy” together, so CMA Fest might be a killer place to do it for the first time.
  6. Indoor or Outdoor concerts –  Outdoor. Nothing like sitting on the lawn listening to your favorite artist sing your favorite song
  7. How many years have you performed at CMA Fest? If this is your first year what are you most excited about?
2018 will be my 5th year performing at CMA Fest. I love getting to interact with the greatest country music fans on the planet. You don’t get more dedicated than the people who show up year in and year out for CMA Fest.
  8. Craziness thing a fan has ever gifted you?  I was playing a show close to my birthday and someone showed up with a small bucket full of Dr. Pepper (my soda of choice)
  9. Favorite story a fan has ever told you?  It always makes my day when someone comes up to me and says “I relate to your song.” I love being able to touch people’s lives with my music. It’s the reason I do this.
  10. Who was your favorite teacher and why?  I knew I wanted to chase my music dreams from the start of my high school years, so the teacher I most appreciated was my 10th grade math teacher, Mrs. Born. She was the only teacher that never once said “that’ll never happen” or “you need a backup plan.”

Jordan Rager is the quintessential millennial artist. Keenly aware of how to reach an audience, Jordan expertly marries today’s technology to traditional country music. The singer/songwriter spent his teens self-recording videos and performing classic cover songs, which he shared on YouTube. These videos caught the attention of Justin Moore, and before the age of 19, Jordan was opening an arena tour with the country-radio star.

Now 23, the Georgia native has a clear picture of who he is as an artist and where he’s headed. Jordan is committed to carving out a lasting career, and he looks to his key influence, Alan Jackson, as a template for success. “I remember being six years old and sitting in front of the TV, and A.J. was on. Even at that young age, I remember watching that and thinking, ‘That’s cool. I want to do that,’” recalls Jordan, who was also raised on the songs of the Eagles, Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.

Currently in the studio as he wraps up his eagerly awaited project, Jordan is excited for fans, both old and new, to hear all of these songs, which he feels will show the country music world exactly who he is.

“What I’m working on now, both lyrically and sonically, is what I’ve always wanted to do. I’m getting to make the music I’ve always dreamed about,” he explains. “It’ll be honest. It’ll be transparent. And, it will all be me,” he says, adding that making that impact is something he is very mindful of. “To see people’s reacting so well to my songs has been the coolest thing in the world. It really validates me and lets me know that I’m doing the right thing in my life. There are people out there who want to hear my story and my songs, which is the coolest thing in the world to me.”
