Granger Smith’s Alter Ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., Releases New Music Video for “Don’t Tread On Me”

Yee Yee Nation is excited! Country star Granger Smith‘s comedic country boy alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., shoots the city boys straight in his new music video for the raucous and heavy-hitting track “Don’t Tread On Me.” This is the fifth song delivered by Earl which appears on Smith’s current, acclaimed album When The Good Guys WinIt follows his previous fan-favorites like “The Country Boy Song,” “Country Boy Love,” “City Boy Stuck” and “Merica,” and is his most ambitious to-date.

Written by Earl Dibbles Jr., Austin Outlaw and Chris Gainz, “Don’t Tread On Me” portrays the saga of Earl’s quiet, rural way of life being misunderstood by two city boy agents. As the story unfolds, however, Earl urges the men in black to put their differences aside. In the end, the three find common ground and even have some good ol’ country fun together. Earl sings:

Yeah he can have opinions
I don’t have to agree with ‘em
Ain’t nothin’ wrong with me and him bein’ different
Oh no no
But I think he should know know know
How I roll

I’m a survivor, you’re damn right I’m a fighter
I’m a big buck skinnin’, trot line riggin Hank Jr disciple
So don’t you be offendin’, what grandaddy defended
This flag I’m wavin’ says I’m stayin’ free.
Don’t Tread on Me, no
Don’t Tread on Me, no
