Keith Urban Fans Join Together to Spread Monkey Love for Valentine’s Day

Monkey Love 2012

For the 6TH year in a row, Keith Urban‘s ‘Monkeyville’ members and Facebook fans from all over the world have come together to mail monkeys to a Monkeyville member in Connecticut to donate to a small local drive. This year 712 plush monkeys were collected from 30 U.S. states, Canada, Spain, Germany, England and Australia! Keith has always encouraged his fans to get involved and volunteer in their communities and this is just one example of what that involvement can do. The monkeys collected this year were distributed for Valentine’s Day to children at the local homeless shelter, 2 local Safe Houses, Bridgeport, Yale-New Haven and Griffin Hospitals, The Covanent to Care for Children, The Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys and Girl’s Club and to the Shelton, Ct. Police Dept. to use with frightened children during police calls.

If you’re a Keith Urban fan and want to join with other fans to give back in the various ways us Monkeys do…then visit KeithUrban.net and join the cause.

How Our Favorite Country Men Celebrate Valentine’s Day

happy-valentines-day_t

How would some of our favorite country men woo their special ladies on Valentine’s Day?? Well, you don’t have to wonder any longer…

  • Alan Jackson -”My wife Denise always inspired songs. One of my early hits was ‘I’d Love You All Over Again.’ I wrote it for our 10th anniversary.”
  • Jake Owen – I’m very romantic. I mean, it oozes out of me. Seriously, I buy t-shirts in the shapes of hearts. That’s the only thing that fits me. I’m one big heart. I give love.”
  • Dierks Bentley – “Before I was married [when] I was dating someone, Valentine’s Day was the holiday where you’d have to stamp out on paper exactly where the relationship stands. If you didn’t give the right present or say the right things, you were in the doghouse.”
  • Josh Thompson – “I like to woo the ladies with dipping them in chocolate … I mean, I’m usually a flowers kind of guy. You know, have ‘em show up at their work so that the other people who didn’t get flowers can be envious.”
  • Justin Moore – “I’m kind of notorious for being terrible at Valentine’s Day. My wife, Kate, is all into that stuff and does a great job. She deserves for me to be a little more romantic and it’s not for a lack of wanting to do good. I pretty much just suck, honestly. I need to get better at it.”

  • Keith Urban – I was listening to the radio and they were talking about when in a relationship it’s too soon to give Valentine’s gifts. One woman said, ‘I was dating a guy three weeks, and he gave me an iPad for Valentine’s Day.’ That’s a ridiculous gift.”

CMTT Exclusive: 10 Quick Quirky Questions with JT Hodges

JT Hodges

JT Hodges was raised in a recording studio… literally.

“My family started Fort Worth’s first multi-track recording studio,”

Hodges explains, referring to Buffalo Sound Studios, a facility that played host to artists as disparate as T Bone Burnett and Michael Bolton.
JT jokes that being in the recording studio was part of their chores during his childhood.

“On weekends when there were sessions, Pops would make us vacuum and clean the bathrooms. Once we were done, my brother and I would be so excited to go into my dad’s audio library and listen to record after record, on vinyl or quarter-inch tapes. That was the environment that I grew up in, crawling around under the console starting at 8 months old.”

JT didn’t head straight to Music City after high school, instead he  opted for a post-college detour to L.A.. After he graduated from Texas Christian University he followed some buddies out to the west coast for a couple years, hitting the coffeehouse circuit to test out the material he was writing. That’s where he met his “future” wife, an expat from Missouri, who had moved out to L.A.

Hodges and his wife soon migrated to the Music Row songbelt, and in the spring of 2010, he landed a record deal.

JT will release his latest single, “Goodbyes Made You Mine,” at all digital download sites on Valentine’s Day.   The new single promises to  showcases his unique voice and edgy style.
