CMT Music Awards Nominees to Be Announced Monday on ‘Today’

CMT is heading to Rockefeller Plaza with platinum-selling group Little Big Town as they present the nominees for the 2012 CMT Music Awards live during the 10 a.m. EDT hour of NBC’s “Today” show Monday, April 23rd. The foursome, who will be releasing their brand new single “Pontoon” this month, will sit down with host Hoda Kotb and guest co-host Willie Geist to reveal this year’s nominees in select categories and give their predictions for the night’s big winners. This is the second year in a row that CMT and NBC have partnered to announce the CMT Music Awards nominations. Voting will begin on CMT.com immediately following this announcement.

The 2012 CMT Music Awards mark the 11th anniversary of the awards show and will air LIVE from Nashville on Wednesday, June 6th on CMT and CMT.com. More details to be announced.

Billy Ray Cyrus On ‘Today’

Billy Ray Cyrus returned to co-host NBC’s “Today” show yesterday and this morning alongside Kathie Lee Gifford.

Billy Ray debuted two new songs from his upcoming album “Hillbilly Heart.”  “Hope Is Just Ahead” and the title track of the album. “Hillbilly Heart” is also the title of his autobiography due out October 9.

Billy Ray will have a return appearance on “90210,” airing May 1.

John Rich to Co-Host ‘Today’ with Hoda- Tomorrow

As part of the Today show’s week of Country Co-Hosts, John Rich, will once again join Hoda Kotb this Thursday, March 22nd. This will be the second time Rich has co-hosted with Hoda. On March 23rd, Rich will make a guest appearance on Fox News Channel’s program Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld which will air at 3 a.m. ET/PT.

Rich is currently in the studio with Big & Rich recording new songs for their forthcoming album out later this year. In addition, The Hollywood Reporter announced that John has signed on to The CW’s tentatively titled The Star Next Door, produced by Queen Latifah and Dave Broome, the creator of The Biggest Loser. The nationwide singing competition show will feature Gloria Estefan and John Rich as mentors.
