Joe Nichols Parts Ways With Label

Joe Nichols is a free man. He has parted ways with his record label headed by Toby Keith. Nichols tweeted that he would like to thank Show Dog Universal “for doing the right thing,” adding “I’M FREE!!!”

Nichols wrote that his plans are to make a record with people he trusts and love and be at a happy home ” He said he hasn’t felt this good about things in a long time. Just to be sure he wasn’t burning too many bridges, he got back on Twitter to say he is very thankful to Show Dog and what they have done for him. He said the relationship had just reached its limits, and he wishes them luck.

2012 CMT Music Awards Just Got a Whole Lot Hotter!

The star power on the 2012 CMT Music Awards stage is getting hotter with the addition of Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Pistol Annies, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Hank Williams, Jr. as performers on this year’s show. The 2012 CMT Music Awards will air live on Wednesday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com.

Toby Keith, who was previously announced as host of this year’s show with actress Kristen Bell, will return to the stage as the only artist to have performed at every CMT Music Awards since its 2002 launch. Also added to the lineup this year are Eric Church and Pistol Annies, both first-time mainstage performers; Group Video of the Year nominees and fan favorites Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry; and country legends Willie Nelson and Hank Williams, Jr.

Additionally, Luke Bryan is slated to perform on this year’s show and will also host the 2012 CMT Music Awards Video of the Year Special premiering Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m., ET/PT. Bryan will present the nominees for the coveted Video of the Year category in the one-hour special.

Previously announced performers include Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band. Fans can vote online at CMT.com, and on their mobile device at CMT Mobile or the CMT Insider app available on iPhone, iPad and Android now through June 4 to determine the winners. The five finalists for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the live show and fans can then vote at CMT.com, CMT mobile, on the CMT Insider app and via text message throughout the live telecast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.

The 2012 CMT Music Awards just got a little rowdier and funnier as country music superstar Toby Keith and actress Kristen Bell have been tapped to host this year’s show. Now in its 11th year, the 2012 CMT Music Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, June 6th at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com.

“Toby Keith and Kristen Bell are a terrific one-two knockout punch for the 2012 CMT Music Awards,” said John Hamlin, SVP, Music Events and Talent, CMT. “Toby has been involved with our show every year since its inception and Kristen is as entertaining and witty as any young actor working today. We’re thrilled to have them both as hosts for this year’s show.”

Country music’s first fan-voted awards show will include performances from Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band. Additional performers and presenters will be announced soon.

Forbes has released it’s newest list of The World’s Most Powerful Celebrities, and some country names made the cut. After No. 1 Jennifer Lopez and No. 2 Oprah; Taylor Swift takes the 11th spot with a small fortune of $57 Million. Also making the cut is Toby Keith at No. 49 with $55 Million, Kenny Chesney at No. 53 with $44 Million, and Brad Paisley at No. 68 with $32 Million.

I honestly don’t know how people can survive off so little money. I mean, Oprah only brought home $165 Million.

Toby Keith Hosts Golf Classic and Breaks Ground on OK Kids Korral

The 9th Annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic kicks off in the most remarkable and rewarding way yet on May 18 at the groundbreaking of the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City. The home-away-from-home for children and families being treated at Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and other nearby facilities has been the ultimate goal of the Toby Keith Foundation and its annual event.

The 10am groundbreaking ceremony begins turning the dream into reality, and that evening’s dinner and auction will continue the tradition of strong fundraising. Last year’s classic raised $650,000, and the 2012 lineup of auction items is even deeper.

Highlights include a trip to Africa with Pros for Africa, a Brush Creek getaway, a Dallas Cowboys VIP package, having a menu item named for you at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill, concerts and golf packages and exclusive memorabilia from Coldplay, Carrie Underwood, the Rolling Stones, the Three Stooges and, of course, Toby Keith himself.
