Vince Gill – Getting Grammy Honor
Vince Gill is being honored by the Grammy people. Their first-ever Grammy Salute to Country Music will go to him. Vine will be surrounded by friends at the tribute September 9 in Nashville. Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss, Michael McDonald, Steve Martin and Gill’s wife, Amy Grant, will heap praise on him. Vince has won 20 Grammy awards so far. He’s sold more than 26 million albums. And, two years ago, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Michelle Branch – Still Country
Michelle Branch is still country. Her first solo CD in six years proves it. “Everything Comes and Goes” will be released in the late fall. But, the first single, “Sooner or Later,” is at iTunes now and will be on country radio August 11. Michelle may have surprised some people three years ago when she turned a corner, switching from pop to country-pop with The Wreckers. She says this new album comes from her realization she wanted to be on her own again: no duos, no groups.

Alan Jackson – Sets Record On A Lake
You could hardly tell there was any water on Lake Martin during Aquapalooza on Saturday. It looked like it was all boats. More than 4,000 boats were packed in on the lake. And, an estimated 35,000 people were there to hear Alan Jackson perform. The number of boats is said to be a record for any single event on a lake. Alan pulled up to the dock in his 1923 Hacker Craft. The show was taped for a CMT special that’ll run Labor Day weekend.
