Come Celebrate Tootsie’s Birthday with The Kentucky Headhunters, The McClymonts and The Roys!

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, Music City’s legendary honky-tonk, will celebrate their 51st Birthday in downtown Nashville on November 23rd. Grammy-winning rocking country group The Kentucky Headhunters, award-winning bluegrass duo The Roys, Australia’s top selling, award-winning group The McClymonts and other bands to be announced will be gracing the outdoor stage on Broadway starting at 12:00 pm (noon) just before the Kid Rock concert at the Ryman Auditorium.

“Last year having Kris Kristofferson, Terri Clark, Randy Houser and Mel Tillis was the beginning of what has become an annual event – The Tootsie’s Birthday Bash!,” says Tootsie’s owner Steve Smith. “Knowing how Kid Rock has agreed to partner with Tootsie’s and co-brand his Ryman show as part of our Birthday Bash is just proof of what we are creating here.”
“Every time I end up at Tootsie’s its a good night, and I don’t expect this night to be any different. It’s cool to be celebrating their birthday party with them; I like parties and seem to excel in that type of atmosphere,” commented Kid Rock on the event.
“We are so honored to be performing at Tootsie’s 51st Birthday Bash. We are looking forward to playing in front of our adopted hometown audience and rocking out with such a great group of artists! It doesn’t get much cooler than this!,” adds Sam McClymont of The McClymonts.

Tootsie’s is known to have been used as a “green room” to some of the greatest Opry stars including Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb. “Tootsies is where the stars would come to wet their whistles and pick their guitars,” adds Smith.

Entertainment will be on both stages of Tootsies, the roof-top of Rippy’s and a stage in the street on Broadway. After the Kid Rock show, Tootsie’s will continue the celebration into the night!

Tickets to Kid Rock’s show at the Ryman Auditorium are SOLD OUT!

The McClymonts: A Musical Gift That’s “Wrapped Up Good” – New Music Weekend

Australia-born trio The McClymonts (made up of sisters Brooke, Samantha, and Mollie) are taking on America with their new release, “Wrapped Up Good.” The McClymonts have experienced much success in Australia with two gold albums, seven #1 hits, and have won the Best Group award at the Australian Country Music Awards four years in a row. They now have their sights set on the United States, making Nashville their new home.

There’s something about family harmonies that truly captivate me. Their voices are just different enough to distinguish between the three of them, but similar enough to create the perfect blend. Being a big fan myself of sister trio SHeDAISY and sister duo Kate & Kacey, I had a feeling I would like The McClymonts. And after listening to this record, I definitely do.

The album kicks off in a big way with “Kick It Up,” a fun song that makes you want to take a drive on a sunny day with the windows rolled down and the volume cranked up. There is definitely a SHeDAISY influence here. Not just the harmonizing, but the sound of the song in general. Other songs worthy of cranking up & driving fast to are “Boy Who Cried Love” and “Cannonball.” They both reminded me of something Bomshel might record.

The album’s first single is its title track, “Wrapped Up Good.” I love this song! I really hope that American country radio will give these girls a shot. They’ve got some true talent and great, catchy tunes. The video is currently in rotation on CMT Pure and GAC.

As a whole, the record is definitely rockin’ and sassy; but they showcase their softer side beautifully on tracks like “Take it Back” and “A Woman is a Flame.” One of the highlights of this album for me is “I’m Not Done With You Just Yet.” It is arguably the most country song on the record and the vocals are flawless, heartfelt, and breathtakingly gorgeous.

I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this record. I think we will be seeing a lot more of The McClymonts here in the U.S. in the future. They have been on tour with Jason Aldean, but you can go to their web site to find out when/if they’re coming to a city near you soon.

The McClymonts Set to Release New Music

Australian country music trio, The McClymonts are set to release their new album, Wrapped Up Good in the U.S. on August 23rd. These triple threat sisters – Sam, Mollie & Brooke – were inspired by a U.S. record executive who told them, “You won’t make it here, because you are girls & girls don’t sell in country music.” The three twenty-something singers’ self-reliant attitude grew from that point on, and now has manifested in their ambition.

These attractive young women moved to Nashville and started their own imprint, BSM Music with a worldwide partnership with Universal Music Group. They have recently embarked on their own U.S. tour performing at county and state fairs coast to coast after coming off of the 2010 Jason Aldean fall tour.

The talents of The McClymonts go beyond singing and playing instruments, having co-written 11 out of 12 songs on the Wrapped Up Good collection. Helping to share their creative energies they enlisted the talents of highly sought after record producers, Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and Adam Anders (Fox TV’s Glee-Music Exec. Producer/Backstreet Boys/Nick Jonas/Sinead O’Connor).

In 2010, these three Australian sisters dominated the country music airwaves and charts in their homeland. The Australian release of “Wrapped Up Good” ended up being the Top 5 Best Selling Country Album of the Year (2010), outselling U.S. country artists like Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney amongst others. The first four singles from Wrapped Up Good all went straight to No.1 on the Australian Country charts.

Now this triple talented group brings their award-winning disc to share with American country music lovers on August 23rd. The sassy, fun video for “Wrapped Up Good” can currently be viewed on national networks, CMT Pure and Great American Country (GAC).
