The Grascals Return To Station Inn on April 14 for a Special Reunion

The Grascals return to Nashville’s Station Inn on Thursday, April 14. The evening makes for a reunion of sorts; Jamie Johnson, Terry Eldredge, Danny Roberts and Terry Smith performed at the club many times as a group before forming The Grascals. There will be two, 60-minute sets (9 and 10:15 p.m.); ticket prices are $15 and more information can be found at www.stationinn.com. All proceeds from the show will be donated to the Mary Jane Eldredge Fund to help her family defray medical expenses incurred during her lengthy illness.

The band expects a good ol’ hometown crowd, and as a “thank you” to their long-time, local supporters they’ll be giving one lucky winner an “Ultimate Fan” Prize Pack. “There aren’t a lot of rules for the contest,” jokes lead vocalist Jamie Johnson. “But, you must be breathing and present to win.” Contest and prize specifics can be found on The Grascals’ website, www.grascals.com.

“Man, we love the Station Inn,” says guitarist Terry Eldredge. “It’s where we met, and we all have a lot of great memories of our years playing there as The Sidemen.” “It’s a great venue,” adds bassist Terry Smith. “Hopefully, my mom, Hazel, will bring a pie for the winner of the Prize Pack.”

Whether or not there is a pie in the Prize Pack, fans can count on a heap of hot pickin’ and some rafter-raisin’ vocals as the original four members are joined by bandmates Kristin Scott Benson (banjo) and Jeremy Abshire (fiddle).

The Grascals Help Celebrate 50th Anniversary of The Andy Griffith Show

The Grascals pay tribute to one of America’s most-beloved television programs, The Andy Griffith Show, with the release their newest disc, Dance ‘Til Your Stockings Are Hot and Ravelin’ (A Tribute To The Music of the Andy Griffith Show).  Available digitally via BluGrascal Records/Saguaro Road Records on March 29 and via CD on June 7, the seven-song EP features tunes that were an integral and humorous part of the show’s eight-year run. The disc’s release coincides with The Andy Griffith Show’s celebration of its 50th anniversary.

Dance includes one original song written and recorded in the spirit of the sweetly-comical series, “Boy, Giraffes Are Selfish,” alongside iconic tracks such as “Dooley,” “Boil Them Cabbage Down,” “Stay All Night (Stay A Little Longer),” “Ol’ Joe Clark,” “Leaning On The Everlasting Arms” and “Mayberry’s Finest Theme.”

The Grascals guitarist, Terry Eldredge, is a longtime fan of the show and confesses to have seen each episode numerous times.

”The Andy Griffith Show had a moral lesson that every human being should live by,” Eldredge comments. “It’s an honor and privilege to be associated with the best TV show ever made. It was – and still is – awesome family entertainment.”
