Band Perry Honors U.S. Heroes with Newly Named NASCAR Race

The roar of engines will now be joined by the sweet sounds of rhythm and bass during this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, thanks to a partnership announcement today among the makers of Crown Royal® whisky, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and BigMachineRecords.com. Officially titled Crown Royal Presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com, the race weekend will feature country music stars The Band Perry, Justin Moore, The Mavericks, Greg Bates and others performing for fans in attendance and viewers tuning in to the race on television.

Big Machine Label Group artists will be on hand at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 29 to ensure the winner of Crown Royal’s annual “Your Hero’s Name Here” contest is provided an experience to remember. The winner, who will be named in early July, will meet various stars and attend a concert as part of a collaborative effort by Crown Royal and the BigMachineRecords.com to showcase those individuals who make a difference in their communities without asking for anything in return. Crown Royal and the Big Machine Label Group artists will be at the track all weekend honoring heroes from Indianapolis and around the country and additionally, urging adult fans to drink responsibly and designate drivers, helping to make sure everyone has a fantastic race-day experience and gets home safely.

The Band Perry visited IMS this weekend to announce the partnership and recognize the five finalists: Dale Beatty, veteran and cofounder of the nonprofit organization Purple Heart Homes from Statesville, N.C.; Lindsey Marquez, ICU nurse from Sun Prairie, Wis.; Curtiss Shaver, Fire Lieutenant and EMT from Troy, Ala.; John Thomas, Deputy Sheriff from Sarasota, Fla.; and Brandon Veatch, veteran and Purple Heart recipient from Bloomfield, Ind.

As part of Crown Royal’s “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 program, the five finalists, which will ultimately include the winner, will travel to Indianapolis for one of the NASCAR season’s most-anticipated races. The winner will be treated to an unforgettable experience, which includes waving the green flag to signal the start of the race and delivering the trophy bearing his or her moniker to the race winner in Victory Lane.

The Crown Royal Presents the “Your Hero’s Name Here” 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com, will be the marquee event of the inaugural Super Weekend at the Brickyard, which also will feature a NASCAR Nationwide Series event Saturday, July 28, two GRAND-AM road races Friday, July 27 and Nationwide practice Thursday, July 26.

Race Day ticket prices start at just $30. Fans can buy tickets online at www.imstix.com, by calling the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700, or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area, or by visiting the ticket office at the IMS Administration Building at the corner of Georgetown Road and 16th Street between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (ET) Monday-Friday. Children 12 and under will receive free general admission to any IMS event in 2011 when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket holder.

2012 CMT Music Awards Just Got a Whole Lot Hotter!

The star power on the 2012 CMT Music Awards stage is getting hotter with the addition of Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Pistol Annies, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Hank Williams, Jr. as performers on this year’s show. The 2012 CMT Music Awards will air live on Wednesday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com.

Toby Keith, who was previously announced as host of this year’s show with actress Kristen Bell, will return to the stage as the only artist to have performed at every CMT Music Awards since its 2002 launch. Also added to the lineup this year are Eric Church and Pistol Annies, both first-time mainstage performers; Group Video of the Year nominees and fan favorites Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry; and country legends Willie Nelson and Hank Williams, Jr.

Additionally, Luke Bryan is slated to perform on this year’s show and will also host the 2012 CMT Music Awards Video of the Year Special  premiering Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m., ET/PT. Bryan will present the nominees for the coveted Video of the Year category in the one-hour special.

Previously announced performers include Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood and Zac Brown Band. Fans can vote online at CMT.com, and on their mobile device at CMT Mobile or the CMT Insider app available on iPhone, iPad and Android now through June 4 to determine the winners. The five finalists for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the live show and fans can then vote at CMT.com, CMT mobile, on the CMT Insider app and via text message throughout the live telecast (ET/CT only) to determine the night’s big winner.

Brad Paisley Parties with Over 65,000 Fans

This past weekend Brad Paisley’s Virtual Reality World Tour hit the road again playing three sold-out shows in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Cincinnati. Special guests on the tour are The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery with Easton Corbin joining the tour on select dates.

“The Escape” plaza area was well received with thousands of fans arriving early afternoon to enjoy games, contests, photo ops and performances on the “Virtual Opry” Stage by Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and Love and Theft. Saturday night after the Indianapolis show Paisley surprised all the artists, bands and crew on the tour by reserving the Hamilton 16 IMAX movie theater in Noblesville, IN for a midnight showing of “The Avengers” in 3D. Before the movie started Paisley welcomed them all to the tour and gave a big thank-you for such a successful first week-end.

More Performances Added to CMA Fest Nightly Concerts

More artists have been added to the Nightly Concerts at LP Field during 2012 CMA Music Festival, featuring two acoustic performance sets each night.

During Opening Ceremonies on Thursday, June 7, David Nail will perform the title track of his album The Sound of a Million Dreams with the previously-announced Nashville School of the Arts Chamber Choir (under the direction of Walter Bitner). The Nashville School of the Arts has been a recipient of funds from CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program, which benefits music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Having a father who is a highly regarded high school band director, taught Nail to be a life-long supporter of music education.

The current lineups for the Nightly Concerts are as follows in alphabetical order:

Thursday, June 7:
Full band performances: Jason Aldean, Glen Campbell, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley,and Zac Brown Band

Tickets to the individual Nightly Concerts are $40 (plus applicable handling fees) for general admission in the upper deck of LP Field. Fans can purchase their tickets through Ticketmaster at Ticketmaster.com or 1 (800) 745-3000. They can also purchase them through CMAfest.com or 1 (800) CMA-FEST (262-3378).

Four-day ticket packages are also available, from only $125 per person plus handling fees. Four-day ticket package categories correspond to varying levels of seating at LP Field and include admittance to all four Nightly Concerts as well as all daytime Festival activities, including the Fan Fair Fall where artist autograph signing sessions are held. Brad Paisley Wants Fans to Escape on Virtual Reality World Tour

More dates and details on Brad Paisley’s must-see Virtual Reality World Tour were released yesterday. The tour will pick back up on Fri., May 18 with shows in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Cincinnati that weekend. Continuing on the tour will be The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery with Easton Corbin joining the tour on select dates.

Paisley continues the Plaza fun tradition for the third year with “The Escape” – a fun-filled outdoor plaza area with games, contests, photo ops, food vendors, and performance stage. Continuing with the tour theme there will be a “Virtual Opry” stage that incorporates a futuristic Grand Ole Opry backdrop and signature mic stands. Performing on the stage starting at 5:00pm will be Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and Love and Theft. All three artists will be signing autographs immediately following the performances on the “Virtual Opry” stage.

Other elements of “The Escape” include Virtual Reality World Tour Escape the Lawn Lucky Seats Game where fans can win sponsor prizes and ticket upgrades and Air Force Reserves Flight Commander Challenge with fans throwing airplanes through targets for prizes. Activities throughout “The Escape” plaza area include Air Force Reserves mock jet plane photo station, Mossy Oak Camo-Jam Snapshot Station and Camo Cabanas, slip n slide and inflatables. There will be an “Escape” emcee that will be playing games and passing out prizes to the fans. Sea Ray Boats will host an outdoor boat display.
