Taylor Swift & Kellie Pickler Make Maxim’s ‘Hot 100′

Maxim has released their annual Hot 100 List…Basically it’s a list of who they believe to be the most smokin-hot of all the ladies. And, I’m gonna admit I’m a little shocked at which country girls made the cut. Rolling in at #72 is Kellie Pickler. Now Kellie is one sexy lady, so I’m not too surprised to see her there. However, Taylor Swift snags #26. Don’t get me wrong, Taylor is beautiful…But typically Maxim enjoys the sexier celebs. Maybe even more surprising than who made the cut is who didn’t. Carrie, Miranda, and Shania are no where to be seen on the list.

Miranda Lambert- “I’m My Own Damn Sponsor!”

Miranda Lambert is known for being somewhat of a tough girl who’s not afraid to speak her mind, and who certainly won’t put up with anyone’s….crap. W magazine recently sat down with the current “it” girl of country music to talk about her life, marraige, and music.

“It’s tough for a girl to be a headliner in country music,” she says, after a pause. “For instance, I can’t get a sponsor.” She points to her beer T-shirt. “I love alcohol! You would think a beer company would sponsor me.” Lambert gets up to leave. She does her own hair and makeup for every show. “I’m my own damn sponsor,” Lambert says, rather proudly. “And I put on my own eyeliner. A woman’s work is never done.”

She gives credit to a very unlikely suspect for creating a better environment in country music…Another blond, but not-so-tough Taylor Swift.

“Taylor Swift is a pop singer,” Lambert tells me. “But she really helped country music. When she hit, I was thinking, Thank God Taylor’s out there to show people we’re not cheesy. Some people still think that country music is twangy and cheesy, and they pigeonhole us. But I thought if they’re looking for Taylor’s videos or songs, they might see or hear other people they like. If her fans are watching for her, they might like me too.”

Well, it appears Miranda isn’t going anywhere any time soon…and she’s blazing her own trail doing it.

Taylor Swift Reaches Out to Family of Fallen Marine

Just another amazing reason to love Taylor Swift. Love or hate her music you must admit she is a gracious and giving human being.

In response to a Marine’s request on YouTube, Taylor made a personal phone call and sent flowers to the family of Sgt. Wade Wilson. Wilson, a native of Leona, TX passed away overseas during combat in Afghanistan on May 11, 2012.

Taylor has reportedly told the family that she wants to wear Sgt. Wilson’s dog tags in her next video to show her support for his military service.

Taylor, Jason, & Lady A Win at BBMA!

Last night country took home some BBMA. Taylor Swift took home Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award for her phenomenal accomplishments.

Lady Antebellum took home the award for Top Country Artist and Jason Aldean took home the Top Country Album award and the Top Country Song Award for “Dirt Road Anthem.”

Taylor Swift Has Lunch with Mark Foster

Oh boy, the “who’s dating Taylor Swift?” rumor-mill has begun to spin again. Yesterday, Taylor was spotted out and about with Foster the People frontman, Mark Foster at a cafe in LA. Taylor channeled her inner flower child in a hippie inspired top and skirt. Mark ducked and ran for cover as soon as the paps appeared…I for one find it amusing that when two musicians go out for lunch, we automatically assume it’s a date. I mean, it obviously could in no way be business related.
