Shane Wyatt is a MN based, Okie born emerging country singer/songwriter who has been receiving national airplay over the past year. His singing and songwriting was heavily influenced by the soulful country singers whose pain and joy was so evident in every song they sang- Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, and Alan Jackson.
The debut single “The Big Bad Dog”, from Shane’s album, “The Last Cowboy” is an up-beat song about a beat up truck. Apparently this truck is known for taking over the roads on I-35, and has made itself a name, “The Big Bad Dog”. So if your traveling down I-35 late at night, look out for this half Peter, half Mack semi-truck that has a missing driver side door. It will be going roughly 90 mph with it’s big chrome grill filling up your rear view mirror. If you happen to spot this beast, “you better move your ass!”
Another single from his album, “She Could Do Better”, tells a story of a woman who is in a mentally abusive relationship. Nothing is ever good enough in the eyes of her significant other. He is always reminding her that she can do better. While on the outside looking in, another man agrees, but in a different sense. She can do better than the man that she is with, and find somebody who appreciates every little thing she does. It’s a great song.
