Westwood One’s Super Bowl game broadcast will kick off live from Cowboys Stadium with a special rendition of Sean Patrick McGraw’s song “Git Yer Cowboy On”, off his April 26th EP release My So Called Life. McGraw customized some of the lyrics to be apropos to this year’s Superbowl.
“They say everything is bigger in Texas, and this Super Bowl matchup may just prove them right,” said Howard Deneroff, Executive Producer and SVP of Westwood One Sports. “The Packers and the Steelers are two of the most storied franchises in sports, and our all-star broadcast crew is eagerly anticipating kickoff and bringing all the excitement of Super Sunday to millions of listeners nationwide, and to our troops overseas.”
“It is amazing how a song that has not been released wide was heard by one of the top decision maker’s at Westwood One Sports and now it is the opening to the live broadcast of the biggest and most watched sporting event in the world. The freakin’ Super Bowl. I cannot wait to hear it on the airwaves as it kicks off the game,” says an elated beyond belief McGraw.
Super Bowl XLV will also be heard on American Forces Radio Network which provides programming to America’s military forces around the globe.
