Taylor Swift Makes Billboard’s Power 100 List

Taylor Swift has landed herself on Billboard’s Power 100 List. The list consists of “a ranking of where power and influence resides in the music business and the industries that intersect with it.” The lists has companies, music execs, and artists. “The artists featured are all actively involved in making impactful business decisions for their careers.”

Taylor lands at #78. “Taylor owns her own management company, has become a branding powerhouse as well as a chart-topping singer and songwriter. Her deals include a retail partnership with Target, a multimillion-dollar ad campaign and tour sponsorship with CoverGirl, a fragrance with Elizabeth Arden and a relationship with Sony Electronics. She has also designed her own clothing line for Walmart, appeared in ads for the National Hockey League and co-created her own doll.”

Also making the list are Lady GaGa, Beyonce and Jay Z, Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest, Bon Jovi, and more. You can see the entire list here.

Last night (Aug. 14) at the Indiana State Fair was tradgic. In a freak accident due to storms the stage collapsed just before Sugarland was set to perform killing 5 and injuring more than 40.

Country Stars React to Stage Collapse

When high winds caused the stage to collapse on hundreds of fans prior to the Sugarland concert at the Indiana State Fair, you could almost hear the collective gasp from the country music community. The event left 4 people dead and over 40 people injured…Several folks to took Twitter and Facebook to share their grief.

Just announced this morning, there’s a new festival coming that could give Woodstock a run for it’s month. The iHeartRadio Music Festival will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest and will take place in Las Vegas on September 23rd and 24th.

With performances by some of the greatest names in popular music today, one stage at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas will rock for two consecutive nights, September 23 and 24 in an unprecedented music festival. Live audio and video streams of the iHeartRadio Music Festival will be available online, via mobile devices at www.iHeartRadio.com and across all of Clear Channel’s radio station websites. Throughout the summer-long promotion, Ryan and his colleagues will be giving hundreds of listeners a dream trip to Vegas to converge with thousands of fans across the country and experience this one-of-a-kind, two-day festival.

Several country acts will be joining the show including Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny Chesney. Others participating include Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, ColdPlay, John Mayer, Sting, Jennifer Lopez, and more…
