The Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® will honor one of country music’s most renowned artists, Emmylou Harris, on her 20th anniversary as an Opry member on Sat., Jan. 21, 2012 at the historic Ryman Auditorium. The Country Music Hall of Fame member was inducted into the Opry on Jan. 25, 1992. Her 20-year milestone will be celebrated with performances by the honoree, fellow 20-year Opry veteran Vince Gill; Rodney Crowell, with whom Harris is currently working on a duets album; Grammy®-winner Shawn Colvin, making her Opry debut that evening; and more.

“Emmylou is treasured not just by all of us at the Grand Ole Opry, but also by fans around the world,” said Pete Fisher, Opry vice president and general manager. She’s shared so many great musical moments with us over the past 20 years, singing with and introducing us to some of her favorite musical collaborators. We’re excited to celebrate her Opry anniversary at the Ryman, a stage on which she’s displayed such incredible artistry through the years.”

During her career, Harris has successfully erased boundaries between country, folk and rock ‘n roll. During the 60s she fell in love with folk music and began performing while in college. In the late 60s Harris met Gram Parsons, formerly of The Byrds, and he became her mentor and singing partner, drawing her into the 70s country rock movement. She toured and recorded with Parsons until his death in 1973. Since then, Harris has continued to develop her musical style by combining folk music with an electric base and has a sound that is uniquely her own. She has enjoyed seven No. 1 and 27 Top 10 hits. Among her most memorable releases: “If I Could Only Win Your Love,” “Together Again,” “Sweet Dreams,” “Making Believe,” “To Daddy,” and “Heartbreak Hill.” In 1999 Billboard Magazine recognized her distinguished career achievements with its highest honor – the Century Award. Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and has won 12 Grammy® awards.

The Grand Ole Opry® is presented by Humana®. Opry performances are held every weekend of the year. To plan an Opry visit, call (800) SEE-OPRY or log on to www.opry.com.

Puddlepalooza Featuring John Anderson, Emily West, Lane Brody, and MORE!!

The 2010 Walden’s Puddle “Puddle-Palooza” benefit concert and festival has been scheduled for Saturday, August 21st, at Nashville’s Yogi Bear™ Jellystone Park.

Hosted this year by the Music Valley Merchants Association, the festival and concert raises funds for Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center. Artists scheduled to perform include John Anderson, Lane Brody, Cerrito, Rodney Crowell and the Notorious Cherry Bombs, Jypsi, HLN news anchor Robin Meade, Victoria Shaw, Army Ranger and Country artist Keni Thomas, Emily West and additional special guests to be announced soon. GAC’s Nan Kelley serves as MC of the event.

All proceeds benefit the non-profit facility, located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Nashville in Joelton, Tenn. The Walden’s Puddle organization receives a substantial portion of its annual financial support each year from the daylong event.

“The new board of Walden’s Puddle is grateful to the Music Valley Merchants Association and Jellystone Park™ for teaming up with us for our first ‘Puddle-Palooza!’ said Walden’s Puddle Board Chair and recording artist, Lane Brody. “It is a fresh start for all of us, and God willing, this event will bring more awareness to the important work Walden’s Puddle does every single day in giving injured and orphaned wildlife a second chance, as well as bring community support and patronage back to Music Valley, which was so impacted by the flood.”

Festival gates open at noon, with the live concert kicking off at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 (tax-deductible) and available online at www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/puddlepalooza . Hard tickets can be purchased at Jellystone Park (2572 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN, 37214 (615) 889-4225) or at the Willie Nelson and Friends General Store and Museum in Music Valley (2613 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN, 37214 (615) 885-1515).
