This past Monday afternoon, Luke Bryan and fellow songwriters Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins, and Ben Hayslip celebrated their latest No. 1 single, “I Don’t Want this Night to End.” The guys, industry folks, and family gathered at Nashville’s Cabana restaurant to toast their success.

All the guys joked and gave thanks, but Luke had the last word when he thanked his wife, Caroline.

“Thank you,” he told her, “for letting me be a 35-year-old kid every day.”

“Colt Ford and Friends” Benefit Concert

Colt Ford was born and raised in the small town of Athens, Georgia. Throughout his life, the community has supported his father’s car dealership, his education, his wife’s beauty shop, and most recently, Ford’s country music career. So when Ford returned home from tour in late March and learned of a shooting of two police officers that ended deadly for Senior Police Officer Elmer “Buddy” Christian and injured Senior Police Officer Tony Howard, it especially hit home, and Ford knew he had to do something.

In an effort to help Christian’s family, Ford and special guests Rhett Akins, Jason Aldean, Dallas Davidson, Mike Dekel, Edwin McCain, James Otto, and more will join for “Colt Ford and Friends” on Tuesday, August 16 at Georgia Theater, located at 215 North Lumpkin Street in Athens, GA, for an intimate performance, silent auction, and celebration of the careers of both Offices Christian and Howard beginning at 7:30 p.m.

“I’ve known Tony for over 25 years, and both he and Buddy are and were pillars in this community, and I can’t stand by and not do something for their families during this difficult time due to such a brutal offense,” says Ford. “I want to raise as much money as we can through the auction, performances, and donation links, so I can’t thank my friends enough for joining together with me for this great cause.”

Tickets will go on-sale Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. ET with General Admission going for $50.00 and VIP for $150.00. VIP Tickets will consist of premiere seating, early admission, and a pre-show cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m. with a silent auction. In an effort to ensure that all proceeds benefit the families, all ticket buyers will be required to present photo I.D. upon arrival as no physical tickets will be issued for this show. There is a two limit ticket per buyer. Tickets will be available for purchase online, HERE, beginning Friday.

“It’s great to be a part of Country Music. I appreciate you not kicking me out yet.I’d like to thank all the writers and artists in this room. I think I get as much inspiration currently from what’s on the radio as I did from old Country Music. I’m really proud to be a part of it these days,” said Brad Paisley.

“To all the writers in this room, you guys have the hardest job. I can stand up there all day and sing – and I love that – but you create something out of air. And that is so amazing. I have so much respect for you. I love you guys. Thank you so much. Maybe someday I’ll consider myself one of you, but I’ve got a long way to go,” said Carrie Underwood.

“Thank you so much for this, CMA. I guess the new phrase should be ‘God bless the girls and the boys who make the noise down on 16th Avenue.’ Thank you very much,” said Keith Urban.

Congrats to all the artists who managed multiple hits!
