Miranda Lambert Opens Up to Redbook About Hotty Husband Blake Shelton

REDBOOK February Cover

Miranda Lambert is featured in the February issue of Redbook magazine on newsstands now.

In the interview Miranda sits down with Redbook for a candid conversation about her husband, fellow country singer and judge of NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton—featured on the ‘Hot Husbands’ issue of Redbook.

Miranda says Blake is a a Hot Husband to her because he is a real man’s man.

He’s not one of those girly guys at all! He’s definitely a country boy, and what you see is what you get.

She also admits he’s not-so-hot when he’s at home and wears camo over and over again without washing it.

Miranda let Redbook know that Blake does have a soft side and takes care of her well.

Well, one time when I was sick, he went into town and brought me some flowers and chicken noodle soup and crackers. I’ll never forget it. On Valentine’s Day, he’ll take me out on the boat and we’ll just relax and have fun together. That’s much more our thing.

The one word Miranda says best describes Blake:

I would say personality. He lights up a room. Seriously, he is the life of every party he goes to.

Dolly Parton & Queen Latifah Talk ‘Joyful Noise’ with Redbook

The stars of Joyful Noise, Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah, chat with REDBOOK about their upcoming movie, friendship and childhoods.

REDBOOK: Tell us about your new movie, which is kind of like Glee set in the gospel world.

Dolly Parton: It’s about a small town struggling to stay afloat.
Queen Latifah: People are losing jobs, and this choir lifts them up.

REDBOOK: Did either one of you identify with the story?

Dolly Parton: Coming from a little town with a lot of hard knocks, I can relate. My grandpa was a preacher, and we had plenty of poor relatives.
Queen Latifah: I grew up singing church music in Bible school, where we kids [from East Orange, NJ] went during vacations to stay out of trouble. My aunt was a choir director and I used to go to rehearsal with her.
Dolly Parton: When I first started writing, recording and performing, it was a gospel. At our little Pentecostal church, we’d do hand-clapping and holy-roller moves.

REDBOOK: Had you known that about Dolly, Latifah?

Queen Latifah: No. I also found out she can rap! And I learned so much just watching her operate with her crew. She gets up and cooks breakfast for everyone, and then pulls 12 to 14 hours a day on set, and still makes friends and family feel they are important.

REDBOOK: What else did you two bond over?

Dolly Parton: We love to eat! I’ve been fighting that battle forever. Latifah would be like, “Damn you!” because I’d be cooking up chicken and dumplings and she’d be trying to diet…
Queen Latifah: Dolly would make this peanut brittle fudge and chocolate treat. I would try to stay away from that, but it would disappear.

Lady A’s Hillary Scott Covers ‘Redbook’

The lone lady of Lady Antebellum, Hillary Scott, covers Redbook magazine’s December issue. The beauty was so captivating, the magazine had a hard time deciding which cover to use.

Inside the issue, Hillary discusses being the odd “man” out…er girl in the group.

I don’t mind it. There are moments when I’m like, If I hear one more ‘That’s what she said’ joke, I’m going to pull my hair out. But for the most part, the guys are so easygoing, and there’s no drama. In high school I was the manager of the football team, so being around boys is natural to me!

Another thing that comes naturally to her is being on the road. Hillary was raised on a tour bus with singer and Mom Linda Davis.

I was homeschooled on the road for kindergarten, then went to elementary school and a private Christian school while living with my grandparents until I graduated, and I loved it. But my parents were gone a lot. I’ve learned to adapt my whole life, and I’m thankful for that, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t mad for a couple of years in middle school!

You can read more about Hillary in December’s issue of Redbook on newsstands November 14th. You can see more of the sneak peek here.

Miranda Lambert Covers ‘Redbook’

Miranda Lambert cover’s the April issue of Redbook magazine. Miranda discusses her music career, her impending wedding with Blake Shelton, and getting into shape for the big day.

Miranda and Blake will say their “I do’s” in May, and she tells Redbook that there’s no cold-feet for her.

“I’m going into it with complete confidence. Marriage is gonna be your stability through everything. It’s someone who always has your back. And it makes me want to be a better woman so I can be that for Blake. Forever.”

“Blake lets me be who I am. And I love his quirky sense of humor. He’ll say, ‘What’s it like to be so straight that you never laugh?’ I’ve loosened up a lot since we started dating. Then at times I’m like, ‘This is reality time; turn off the funny guy.’ So we balance each other out.”

She also talks about being called the Lady GaGa of Country Music…Click here to read more.

Redbook hits newsstands on March 15th.
