Toby Keith may be known as a tough guy on the country music scene, but at home he’s just dad….and sometimes Coach. People magazine sat down with Toby to discuss his jock side. For the past six years, Toby has coached his son’s football team. It doesn’t appear that Stelen’s team mates care that their dad has a room-full of awards at home.
“Kids do better with that than adults do,” Keith, 49, tells PEOPLE Country for its September issue. “They are just, ‘Hey, coach! Can I go in?’
Not only does Toby coach football, but every night his son and a “herd” of his friends come over to shoot hoops.
“He’s 13 and has a size 13 shoe,” Keith laughs. “So he’s a bigger kid than I was at his age.”
