Pam Tillis Is ‘No Crock Betty’

Country Weekly wants to let you in on a little secret—Pam Tillis doesn’t like just making music, she loves to cook! And the celebrated country star will bring her kitchen prowess to a new cuisine column for Country Weekly.

The self-proclaimed “foodie” and “top chef wannabe” grew up around good cooking and has a history of amazing culinary explorations which she plans to share monthly with Country Weekly readers in her new column, Pam and Company. Her first column will be available in the November 22 issue, which hits newsstands November 15th. And in the spirit of Thanksgiving, Pam shares her favorite recipe for super-delicious chocolate sweet potato pie, which can also be found at Pam’s food blog at nocrockbetty.com.

Tillis says, “This is my maiden voyage as a columnist, but I think it’s going to be great fun. I’m excited to be working with Country Weekly. This column is a fantastic way to connect with the audience.”

She adds, “I will be using some of my recipes as well as others I have picked up through the years. But I want to make them accessible for the average person—keep it down to earth, but still push the envelope a little bit and make it interesting so you don’t get bored with cooking. I also want to make the dishes health-conscious. That’s very important.”

Country Weekly Editor Lisa Konicki believes the popular magazine’s constituents will appreciate Tillis’ approach to cooking.

“Our readers are always looking for fun, accessible recipes and they love and respect Pam for her country music heritage—it’s a perfect combination,” Konicki says. “Welcome to Country Weekly, Pam.”

City of Dreams – Artists For Tennessee Flood Relief Video

In May 2010, Nashville and the state of Tennessee were devastated by historic flooding that caused over $1 billion in damage and killed more than 30 people.

Two weeks later, over 40 Nashville artists and musicians joined together with a production/engineering team and film crew to record the flood relief song City of Dreams. All participants and facilities donated their services and all proceeds from the song will benefit the Red Cross.

The video features Victoria Banks, Kate and Kacey, Mallory Hope, Buddy Jewel, Jesse Lee, Pam Tillis, Sarah Darling and many more.
