No Justice Tries To Outrun Heartbreak With New Single

No Justice will release their third single to radio ‘Gone Ain’t Far Enough’. The song, which hits airwaves February 28th, is a turn to their country roots and slows down the pace to a heartfelt waltz.

The band’s biggest inspiration is life itself and nothing is more universally relatable than the subject of heartbreak.

“No matter how fast and far you get away, you can never outrun a broken heart,” says vocalist Steve Rice. ‘Gone Ain’t Far Enough’ is about trying to do just that, and never truly being able to get far enough away.

No Justice has already had radio success from the first two singles off 2nd Avenue both peaking at number 2 on the Texas Music Chart. ‘Love Song’ had a chart run of 23 weeks and after 14 weeks ‘Just Get Going’ is still charting. The band filmed a video for ‘Just Get Going’ which has been added to CMT.com and has had thousands of hits on the No Justice official YouTube Channel.

Country Music Stars Continue to Support the Boot Campaign

One-by-one country music stars are taking off their cowboy boots and replacing them with army boots! The Boot Campaign was inspired by retired US Navy SEAL and author of the book Lone Survivor, Marcus Luttrell. The campaign is a way for Americans to give back and say thank you to our armed forces.

Country music stars involved include: legends like George Jones, Oak Ridge Boys, Jan Howard, Mel Tillis, Lee Greenwood and Charlie Daniels, along with hit-makers Josh Turner, Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Randy Houser, Gretchen Wilson, Little Texas, Joe Diffie, Jamie O’Neal, Heidi Newfield, Justin Moore, Chuck Wicks, Colt Ford, Randy Rogers Band, Eli Young Band, Derek Sholl, Joey + Rory and Jack Ingram.

Charlie Daniels, who even chose the Boot Campaign to be a part of his annual charity event at the Nashville Palm said, “I’ve never seen anything quite as unique as the Boot Campaign, and I’ve seen a lot!”

Also on board are bluegrass artists The Grascals and The Roys, along with Texas sensations Cross Canadian Ragweed, Robert Earl Keen, Jason Boland, Aaron Watson, Mick and the Motorcars, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, Kevin Fowler, Stoney LaRue, No Justice, Bleu Edmondson, and Granger Smith.

These celebrities along with the Boot Girls are helping to spread the organizations motto: “When They Come Back, We Give Back!” The campaign encourages Americans to purchase a pair of army combat boots to wear in support of our nation’s troops. Proceeds from the boot sales are donated to partner charities, including Luttrell’s Lone Survivor Foundation.

About The Boot Campaign
Known as “the Boot Girls,” Ginger, Leigh Ann, Sherri, Heather and Mariae banned together one fateful night in Tyler, Texas to launch The Boot Campaign giving gratitude and appreciation for the American military. The initiative is quickly gaining awareness with the repertoire of boot images expanding every day. The Boot Girls ask Americans to put their boots on during the routine of daily life to symbolically walk in the shoes of our military men and women, remembering their service and sacrifice. The Campaign’s signature boots are available for purchase online with proceeds benefiting organizations like The Lone Survivor Foundation.

No Justice – “2nd Avenue” Available TODAY!

“2nd Avenue” is somewhere you’ll want to be with the album of one of Texas’ hottest bands this year! No Justice has shared the stage with Dierks Bentley and Pat Green and have seven top 10 hits, two #1 singles in Texas and torn up the radio waves in both Texas and Oklahoma.

To date they are regionally well known but with over 200 tour dates are quickly becoming known around the country. The band has a solid sound as demonstrated on this album.

The lead single, “Love Song” is a good balance of lyrics and instrumentals. There are some awesome riffs and strong drumming that accompanies the lyrics of a love lost, although upbeat in rhythm. This is a steady tempo, toe tapping love-lost-song where the singer wants another chance and a little romance with a love song.

“2nd Avenue” is a fast tempo song with lots of drums and soft verses breaking out into a strong rock-ballad tempo with a repetitive hook of “take me back to 2nd Avenue……take me to you”. He keeps searching for answers and looking for her through the streets everywhere but can’t find a trace, so he wants to go back to 2nd Avenue, back in time to her.

“Going Nowhere” is a rock-rhythm song about a young gal with her feet on the dash as they drive along on a great summer night. This is one of those songs you’ll relate to your youth with – driving nowhere, running along in the breeze and just “going nowhere”. Loved those summer nights!

The Everly Brothers

Look to No Justice for a Country-Rock-Roots Revival

My first thought when hearing No Justice’s collections of songs on www.myspace.com/nojusticeband was of a country-rock version of The BoDeans or an rougher-around-the-edges Eli Young Band. You can practically hear the barroom smoke and whiskey in Steve Rice’s lead vocals, and back-up support from lead guitarist Cody Patton and bassist Joey Trevino makes for some gritty, sexy and powerful singing.

Musically, it’s clear these guys have been playing together for years. In fact, No Justice, which also includes Jerry Payne on guitar and Armando Lopez on drums, has been together in one form or another more almost a decade. Playing probably every bar and club in Texas and their native Oklahoma, they’ve honed a country-rock-roots sounds that is familiar while at the same time unique.

They’ve had two number 1 hits on the Texas Music Charts and are a popular touring act in the southwest. Recently signed to the Dallas-based independent record label Carved Records, the band just finished recording a new CD that should be out in March and I can’t wait to hear the new music.

What we can listen to right now is a great collection of catchy rock-tinged country dance hall tunes and earthy ballads that skip the sentimentality in favor of honesty and heart. A mix of studio and live tracks, these songs are great in the CD player or in a club on a beer-soaked Friday night.

My favorite track is “Horseshoe Lake,” a rough but sweet ballad about finding a place to mend a broken heart and broken dreams. Kind of a guy’s version of Taylor Swift’s “Teardrops on My Guitar.”

It will be interesting to see if No Justice can make the transition from Texas bar band to Nashville and country radio. George Strait started that way, and Garth Brooks hails from their native Stillwood, Oklahoma. I hope they can make the move, too.
