Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Get Red Carpet Cozy in Cannes

This week Keith Urban showed his support for wife Nicole Kidman at the Cannes Film Festival in France. The couple went to the screening of Nicole’s latest film The Paperboy which also stars Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey, and John Cusak. Keith and Nicole were their usual affectionate selves on the red carpet.

Keith Urban Heads to Scottland with the Family

Keith Urban and Sunday Rose recently dropped in on Mommy, Nicole Kidman, while she filmed The Railway Man in chilly Scotland. The movie also stars Colin Firth.

Country Couples Make Zimbio’s 100 Hottest Celeb Couples List!

Zimbio.com has announced their 4th Annual list of 100 Hottest Celebrity Couples, and our very own Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have made the cut along with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher (no. 39), Josh Kelley and Katherine Heigl (no 47), Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert (no. 50), and LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian (no. 96).

Going beyond merely the most beautiful people, couples were ranked using an algorithm that measures and calculates popularity, attractiveness, success, and staying power. The data behind each metric is then used to determine their place on the list.

Topping the list for the second year in a row is Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z.

“This is a list that’s born from and powered by massive sets of data” said Editor-in-Chief John Newlin, “which allows us to definitively say that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are exactly the 15th Hottest Celebrity Couple.”

Popularity was determined by overall search volume as well as internal Zimbio analytics. The attractiveness quotient was crowd-sourced through a face-off style game that ran on Zimbio.com. A couple’s success was measured by their notable deals signed (record, movie, modeling or otherwise) as well as awards received. Finally, a couple’s staying power was evaluated based upon years together, children, engagements, and their place on the list last year. Points were deducted based on the number of recent partners as well as the validity of break-up rumors.

Nicole Kidman is the Highlight of a Man’s Life

Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron star in the upcoming film, Paperboy. Supposedly the youngster and Keith Urban‘s wife get pretty frisky in some scenes.

I pinched myself everyday, especially after doing love scenes with Nicole Kidman,” Zac recently told press. “It was the highlight of my life. Nicole was something else and was always in character. She didn’t get weird method, like some actors do, but I have never seen anyone so centered.”

I wonder if Keith Urban pinches himself after a “love scene” with Nicole; either way, I’m sure it’s the highlight of his life as well.

The film also stars John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey and hits theaters November 23rd.

Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Immortalized in Wax

Madame Tussauds wax museum opened it’s doors down under in Sydney, Australia last week. Among the usual suspects of Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth is Keith Urban and his famous actress of a wife Nicole Kidman. Madame Tussauds general manager Hywel Mathias said it takes 60 artists 800 hours to create a figure from beginning to end and each as a net worth of about $220,000.

Looks like taking a trip down under and standing next to Wax Keith Urban may be the closest I ever get to snatching a picture of just me and my favorite country crooner.

Keith Urban’s First Words Made Nicole Kidman Cry

Nicole Kidman is a big movies star, but us country fans know her as Keith Urban‘s wife (boy that’s gotta be rough). In a recent interview with W magazine with her Hemingway & Gellhorn co-star Clive Owen, Nicole opens up about how Keith’s vocal chord surgery brought them closer together.

Three weeks of no sound—no laughing, no coughing, no sneezing, nothing. He could write things down, and he would scribble away. You can still fight when someone can’t talk. When he disagreed with me, he would write, “This is unacceptable.” [Laughs.]

“All of those things make you closer. It was sort of profound: to go without his voice, and then to finally hear his voice. What if he sounded different? I was there for his first words, and then we cried. How many people experience their husband’s first words? If that doesn’t bring you closer, you’re not breathing.”

These two are connected on an entirely different level than most couples I know. The couple met late in life, so they’ve had plenty of time to learn to take care of themselves, but Keith takes his role as husband and protector very seriously.

My husband [country singer Keith Urban] says I’m raw. He thinks the world is not a great place for me because he fears that I’ll be hurt. He says, “That’s my job: I’ll protect you.”

Keith Urban Genuinely Surprised by Opry Invite Thanks to Nicole Kidman

For most couples, secrets are an automatic “no, no” but Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have taken it to a whole new level to include “no surprises” as well. According to Country Vibe News, Nicole recently broke that promise, but for good reason.

“You know it’s funny, cause my wife and I have a very strict rule that we don’t keep secrets and we’re not into surprises. You know my wife’s like ‘I don’t like surprises, don’t ever have a surprise, always tell me if there’s gonna be a surprise party,’ you know that kind of thing. And so we’ve never surprised each other with anything or kept any secret about anything and this is the rare exception. And when I got home she said, ‘Do you wish I’d have told you?’ And I said no. On one hand, yeah, in the sense that I might have felt a little bit more prepared, but no in the sense of genuine shock. So, (I was) grateful that she didn’t.” On a funny side note, Nicole was told Keith’s induction would take place on April 21st, so she blocked off the night on their calendar by writing “Monica’s birthday” leading him to believe that they had a birthday party to attend. Now Keith laughs and says Nicole really does have a friend named Monica, “but evidently it’s not her birthday.”

Keith did look genuinely shocked and surprised to be asked to join the Opry family. I’m glad Nicole’s tremendous acting abilities were able to keep the invitation on the down low.
