Former Dixie Chicks front-woman Natalie Maines is back behind the microphone with the Beach Boys Cover “God Only Knows.” The song will air on HBO’s Big Love finale on March 20th. It will also be available on iTunes on March 15th.

The Dixie Chicks only seem to make headlines these days when they pop out another baby or when lead-singer, Natalie Maines, starts shooting off at the mouth.  Apparently, she decided to to make a statement at a rally in Little Rock, AR.    The rally was related to the 1993 killings of three young boys.  Maines reportedly implicated  one of the boys step-fathers in the deaths.  The step-father, Terry Hobbs, is now sueing for defamation.  Apparently, all this babbling from Ms. Maines is damaging his character and is causing him psychological distress.  Although, I wasn’t aware that Natalie Maines could persuade people one way or the other. 

Now, I love the Dixie Chicks.  I also think that it was appalling how they were treated after Natalie announced her disappointment that George Bush was from her home state.  I mean, looking back, there are plenty worse things that have been said about the man.  But I also think she needs to stick to what she knows, and that isn’t fighting crime.  One would think that Natalie would know by now to keep her mouth shut.
