Garth Brooks Live, Loud and Ready to Rock Nashville

Nashville is HOT and ready for Garth Brooks live from Bridgestone Arena as he kicks off his 2 opening shows tonight.

Garth held a press conference earlier this evening and says he’s flattered so many are coming in from out of town and he wants to let people know “that Nashville is up and running again.” With all the volunteers, Garth Brooks estimates his 9 flood-relief Nashville shows will cost only $3-400,000.  He will raise at least $4 million for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Garth announced in October that he would do one show in Nashville to benefit the foundation. When tickets went on sale Nov. 3, he sold out nine shows in four hours.

“We just said we’ll sell tickets as long as we have people wanting them,” Brooks said at a preconcert news conference on Thursday.

“I’m very proud to be a part of this. You say things, not knowing what will really happen. Nashville is one of the hardest markets to sell concert tickets. I can’t tell you how big this whole thing has gotten and how lucky I feel to be a part of it,” he said.

New Year’s Eve-Nashville Style

Nashville held its first guitar drop on New Years Eve during their Bash on Broadway. Thousands of folks from across the country gathered on Broadway to watch a free concert, featuring Rodney Atkins, and to watch a 10 foot lighted guitar drop with fireworks exloding in the background to ring in 2010.

CMA Awards Are Heating Up & Sold Out!

CMA Awards

Were only one day away from country musics’ biggest night!  The Country Music Awards will be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.  And CMA wants to make sure that you tune in from start to finish! Taylor Swift has been chosen to give the opening performance.

Taylor says she is still amazed she’s up for four CMA awards, including entertainer of the year. She’s the youngest ever nominated for that award. And, she’s the first solo female since Faith Hill in 2000. Taylor says man or woman, it doesn’t matter. She says “you have to do the work and put in the effort and do the touring that it takes to win entertainer of the year.” She says it doesn’t have anything to do with gender. And, to see how serious this 19-year-old is about her career, Taylor adds “if you want to compete with the boys, play on a level that they’re playing at.”

ABC has country music covered this morning and later tonight as a run-up to tomorrow’s CMA Awards. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are performing live during “Good Morning America.” They’ll be in the plaza outside the Sommet Center in Nashville. In the evening, there’s a one-hour special. It’s called “In the Spotlight With Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Big Stars. All Access Nashville.” She interviews Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Martina McBride.

If you are not able to attend the Country Music Awards in Nashville tomorrow night DON’T worry! Tune into the awards on TV and then login to Country Music Tattle Tale. We will be blogging live and have a live chat room where everyone can share their opinions about the results and performances.

Updated:  If you were hoping to score a few last minute tickets to the CMA Awards they have been sold out.

Seems Country Ladies Can’t Keep Their Undergarmets On!

Tawny just posted the attack on Keith Urban and it looks like no sexy country man is immune to the throwing of bra’s!  Take a look at this video of Jake Owen singing “I Love Women”.  He already has one bra hanging on the microphone stand and towards the end of the song one lady fan just can’t keep her undergarments on for another second!

As if we really needed anymore reasons to love Jake Owen.  Just watch him sing this song….ladies, that’s all you  need!

This video is from Jake’s performance at the Tin Roof in Nashville Saturday night.
