Josh Turner to Perform Opry Mills Mall Grand ReOpening

Even though Nashville’s Opry Mills mall officially opens next Thursday, March 29th, the Grand Reopening Celebrations will take place in May, and country superstar Josh Turner will be serenading the crowd with his deep crooning voice. The free concert has been named Summer Nights and will kick-off at 6pm on May 5th with Josh taking the stage at 8:30 followed by a massive fireworks display.

“Like so many Nashvillians, our band, crew and families were affected by the devastating flood in 2010, so when I was asked to participate in the reopening of Opry Mills, it was an easy call,” Turner said. “A lot of folks lost their jobs in the flood, and I’m excited about the employment opportunities brought about with the emergence of these new businesses. It’s the best reason I can think of to invite everyone out to celebrate with their community.”

The free event is open to the public. Folks are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Lady Antebellum & Fans Help Nashville Flood Relief

Lady Antebellum and their fans are joining together to help out Nashville flood recovery efforts. The trio announced today that all proceeds from their sold out fan club event on June 10 will benefit Nashville flood relief. In addition, a live stream of the intimate concert will be available on their web site for a minimum $5 donation. The live stream of the show will be hosted on www.ladyantebellum.com and www.livestream.com. After participating in GAC’s Music City Keep on Playin’ benefit at the Ryman, the trio is eager to keep the Nashville flood in the spotlight.

“It was great to be a part of the benefit at the Ryman…to see how everyone is coming together for Nashville and the surrounding areas is really inspiring,” says Dave Haywood. “We want to keep doing our part because it isn’t over yet…Music City has a long way to go. Streaming the event online is a cool way for us to include more of our fans in this event, and all the money goes to a great cause.”

City of Dreams – Artists For Tennessee Flood Relief Video

In May 2010, Nashville and the state of Tennessee were devastated by historic flooding that caused over $1 billion in damage and killed more than 30 people.

Two weeks later, over 40 Nashville artists and musicians joined together with a production/engineering team and film crew to record the flood relief song City of Dreams. All participants and facilities donated their services and all proceeds from the song will benefit the Red Cross.

The video features Victoria Banks, Kate and Kacey, Mallory Hope, Buddy Jewel, Jesse Lee, Pam Tillis, Sarah Darling and many more.
