Johnny Cash and Kenny Chesney Are Rocking the Cradle

“Cradle Rock” (http://www.cradlerockstore.com), has announced that Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” greatest hits from Johnny Cash and chart topping singles from Kenny Chesney would be the first three albums in a lullaby series, hitting stores October 26th.

Soothing sounds from instruments such as the vibraphone, glockenspiel and mellotron are used to create lullabies based on famous, iconic artists and albums in the country, rock and pop genres.

Additional Cradle Rock albums in development include U2’s “The Joshua Sleep Tree,” Black Eyed Peas’ “Sleep-pea Hits” as well as lullaby albums inspired by Nickelback, Carrie Underwood and The Eagles to name a few.

Michael Jackson Gets Bluegrass Tribute

Six years after the chart-topping success of their album Green Day Blue Grass, which spent over a year in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart, the boys from the “newgrass” trio Honeywagon have released a tribute to the King of Pop just in time to celebrate his August 29th birthday. Songs from Neverland – a Bluegrass Tribute to Michael Jackson, is available now on iTunes.

Featuring ten of Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, Songs from Neverland puts an upbeat, harmony-induced spin on songs like “Billie Jean,” “Man In The Mirror,” “Black or White,” and “Beat It.” Taking their craft to a new level of musicianship and creativity, this album marks the fourth release from Honeywagon and represents a new direction for the trio whose previous releases include tributes to Blink-182, Rolling Stones, and Green Day.

Honeywagon is comprised of Texas native, Bryan “BC” Clark, Loren “L-Train” Ellis from Malibu, CA, and man-of-the-world Mo Levone. Each brings their own life experiences and musical background to the table that, when combined, produce what they call a “newgrass” vibe.

All Honeywagon albums are available on iTunes and at http://www.honeywagonmusic.com.

Track List:

1. Beat It
2. PYT
3. Man In The Mirror
4. Billie Jean
5. Rock With You
6. I’ll Be There

Country Artists Remember Michael Jackson on the Anniversary of His Death

Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum might not want to do this move on stage: the moonwalk. He says when he was a little kid, his brother and sister would make him moonwalk. He says he doesn’t “think he was good at it.” But “they just used to think it was funny.” Hillary Scott says Michael Jackson’s duet with his sister, Janet Jackson, is on a mix-tape she made in high school. Scott says she loves the song and the video. She says it was great “just to see them interacting together.”

LeAnn Rimes hears a Michael Jackson song on the radio she says she thinks how “current” it sounds. She says “there’s a timelessness in his music.” And, she says “we lost one of the most amazing artists in history” when he died a year ago today.

Laura Bell Bundy says Michael Jackson was a big influence on her “and a lot of other performers who sing and dance simultaneously, who really love to give an audience an experience, a visual experience when they hear music.” Julianne Hough was on “Dancing With the Stars” long before she left to do country music. She says as a kid, she remembers watching “some awards show and he had the white glove on.” She says after she watched him perform, she wanted to get up and dance, too.

“We Are The World” Remake Includes Big Country Music Names

wearetheworld

Just like 25 years ago, when musicians came together for the original “We Are the World,” country stars are in the mix this time, too.

Here are the singers with country ties who took part in the new recording last night: Miley Cyrus, Sugarland, Zac Brown, Julianne Hough and Jeff Bridges. Jeff Bridges has been singing country because of the movie, “Crazy Heart.” They joined dozens of others like Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, the Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, Tony Bennett and Jennifer Hudson.

The original included Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kenny Rogers, which was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. That first recording raised millions of dollars for famine relief in Africa. Money raised from this new recording is to help the people of Haiti.
