Recently, the Colon Cancer Alliance presented the 3rd Annual “The Stars Go Blue” for Colon Cancer Benefit featuring “Couples in Country Music” at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Ford Theater in Nashville, TN. The event raised $36,000 for the Blue Note Fund, which provides financial support for colon cancer patients in need of assistance.

The intimate evening was hosted by Storme Warren, GAC and Sirius radio personality, along with his wife, Allison Warren and featured rare, acoustic performances by some of country music’s elite artists, songwriters and musicians Josh Turner, multi-platinum MCA recording artist and Grand Ole Opry member, with his wife and band member, Jennifer; Grammy winning singer Linda Davis with her husband singer/songwriter, Lang Scott; Paul Martin, former lead singer of Exile and currently “Apostle Paul” in Marty Stuarts Fabulous Superlatives with his wife, Jamie Martin; and Charlie Kelley, “The Stars Go Blue” creator and Grammy nominated producer/artist with his wife, GAC personality, Nan Kelley.

Jasmine Greenamyer, Vice President of the Colon Cancer Alliance, presented Charlie Kelley with their 2011 Visionary Award in honor of his work to create the Blue Note Fund. He has turned his vision of helping others struggling with colon cancer into reality through “The Stars Go Blue” benefit concert and Blue Note Fund. Kelley has been an admirable leader and fearless advocate for the cause and is a valuable member of the Colon Cancer Alliance.

The annual event was a blue ribbon success, also due, in part, to the event sponsors which included: Amgen; Genentech; AmSurg; Salix; DET Distributing Company and Miller Lite; Liberty Party Rental; NashvilleMuse.com; and Athens Distributing Company and Don Sebastiani & Sons, who showcased their new Project Paso wines.

Over the past three years, in addition to the artists listed above, friends and fellow musicians such as Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Hal Ketchum, Jamie O’Neal, Rodney Crowell, Mike Snider, Wade Hayes and others have lent their talents to “The Stars Go Blue,” helping to raise over $65,000 to date. Linda Davis-Proud Momma

While waiting in the photo line to snap some pictures of Friday’s nights performances, I noticed a very very familiar face in the audience…Linda Davis, Hillary Scott’s mom.  So, just as Lady Antebellum took the LP Field stage, I snapped a shot…She is so proud.
