Good News for Concert Goers in 2011 – Concert Prices Expected To Drop

Concert tickets could be a little more affordable next year. Some promoters are saying rather than charge high prices when tickets first go on sale, and then offer discounts later, they’ll offer cheaper tickets from the start.

Some promoters also say they’ll try to sell more T-shirts and other merchandise to make up for lost revenue. This year was a tough one for some tours. Dozens of shows were canceled — for example, Lilith Fair and the Eagles with the Dixie Chicks.

Lilith Tour – Lots Of Canceled Dates, But Miranda Lambert Plays Today

This is a tough time for some acts to be on tour. A lot of tickets are going unsold. The Lilith Tour really is feeling it. This past week, it canceled 11 dates. But, they’re promising no further cancellations.

One of the co-founders of the Lilith Tour, Terry McBride, is apologizing to the fans and artists affected by the canceled dates. Today, the tour is in Mountain View, California. Miranda Lambert, Sarah McLachlan and The Bangles are among the performers for this stop.

The Court Yard Hounds have revised their summer tour schedule. Emily Robison and Martie Maguire have been added to some Lilith dates to make up for dates they were attached to that were canceled. That, in turn, is affecting some Court Yard Hound dates. Details are at www.CourtYardHounds.com.

Nashville Lilith Fair Date-CANCELLED

The Nashville date of Lilith Fair on Aug. 7 has been canceled. The lineup included Sugarland, Loretta Lynn and the Court Yard Hounds (featuring Martie Maguire and Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks), Sarah McLachlan, Sugarland, and numerous female musicians. The tour’s next stop is Sunday (June 27) in Calgary, Alberta, with a lineup that includes Colbie Caillat, Sheryl Crow and Sugarland.

No reason has been given for the cancellation as of yet.

Miranda Lambert Kicks Off “Roadside Bars And Pink Guitars”

Miranda Lambert is getting ready for a busy touring season and will be bringing her “Roadside Bars And Pink Guitars” Tour to fans. Gearing up on March 18th in Beckley, WV, the tour will make stops in at least 22 cities and more to be announced. This is Miranda’s first official headlining tour. She will be joined by David Nail, James Otto, Randy Houser and Wade Bowen among others.

Don’t forget that Miranda will also take part in the prestigious Lilith Fair Tour and joins an A-list lineup including Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, Dave Matthews Band and Norah Jones, performing at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival in June.

“In the last 5 years, I have learned so much from all the amazing artists I’ve toured with,” said Miranda. “Now it’s my turn to venture out and do more shows of my own. I’m happy that there are a lot of great new artists who are willing to come out and support my tour.”

Country music legend Loretta Lynn is joining Martina McBride and many more for the girl-power tour, Lilith Fair.

“I’m happy they wanted me on this Lilith tour. I have never done shows just with other girl singers before. When I first started out, they said girl singers couldn’t sell records or concert tickets. We’ve come a long way since then and we’re gonna have a big time out there!”
