Lee Brice Celebrates “A Woman Like You” #1

Lee Brice

He’s written No. 1 singles for Garth Brooks (“More Than A Memory”) and Eli Young Band (“Crazy Girl”), but Lee Brice celebrated a chart-topper like no other Tuesday (5/15).

“We’ve worked a long time and now we’re sitting here as an artist,” Brice said before the party honoring “A Woman Like You.” “It feels great in that way. All the work we’ve put in is paying off.”

Fellow artists Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young and LoCash Cowboys’ Preston Brust were in attendance. Brice’s label president Mike Curb also spoke, noting, “Lee, you’re going to be singing this song for the rest of your life.”

Lee Brice Learned to Persevere In Music with Football

Lee Brice

Everything Lee Brice needs to know about making it in the music business he learned in football.

Lee was a long snapper for Clemson University until an elbow injury ended his athletic career. He tells the Associated Press his two goals in life were to play music and football, and when he got hurt, it felt like he could check that off and move on.

Brice says football trained him to “keep on keeping on,” and that’s just what new artists have to do. It took years, but Brice recently scored his first No. 1 with “A Woman Like You.” He says he feels like he “just scored a touchdown,” and he’s “just got to keep rocking.”
