Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum is navigating their way to the west coast this week, starting with a performance of their brand new single “Freestyle” today on The Ellen Degeneres Show (check your local listings). Friday (10/24), the group will represent country music at CBS Radio’s annual “We Can Survive” concert at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Pharrell, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Paramore, Sia, Taylor Swift and Gwen Stefani.

“Freestyle” is the latest single off the group’s recently released fifth studio album 747. “The 48th Annual CMA Awards” will present genre-crossing duet performances by Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor who will perform with Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert respectively. “Pretty Little Liars” actress and DMG Nashville recording artist Lucy Hale will be joining the evening as a presenter live, Wednesday, Nov. 5 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on the ABC Television Network.

Hosted for the seventh consecutive year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, Country Music’s Biggest Night™ will also feature superstar performances by Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Paisley, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, Underwood, and Keith Urban.

Grande will be joining two-time CMA Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town for an on-air collaboration. Within less than a year, Grande captured No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 twice—first with her Republic Records debut Yours Truly and also with its 2014 follow-up My Everything.

Trainor will team up with nine-time nominee and reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Lambert. This dynamic duo’s performance of Trainor’s “All About That Bass” is sure to be a must see moment. Singer/songwriter Trainor has written songs for such stars as Rascal Flatts before skyrocketing to success with her international hit “All About That Bass,” which has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the past six weeks.

While Hale made her mark early on as an actress, best known for her role on the hit ABC Family drama “Pretty Little Liars,” music was always her first love. The Memphis born and bred singer’s debut album, Road Between, was released by DMG Nashville on June 3 and features her brand new single, “Lie A Little Better.” Hale will also be performing on “CMA Country Christmas,” a two-hour special airing Monday, Dec. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Winners of “The 48th Annual CMA Awards” will be determined in a final round of voting by eligible voting members of the Country Music Association. CMA Awards balloting is officiated by the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Voting for the CMA Awards final ballot ends Monday, Oct. 27 (5:00 PM/CT).

“The 48th Annual CMA Awards” is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the Executive Producer, Paul Miller is the Director, and David Wild is the writer. The special will be shot in high definition and broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound.

No Shave November Recruits Dave Haywood & Kiefer Thompson

nsn

The fourth annual No Shave November benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will kick into full gear on Saturday, November 1st, as many music industry and radio station professionals, along with some of today’s hottest country stars put down their razors for the month and let their facial hair grow. Donations raised through November will help St. Jude continue to find cures and save children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Participants can register now at www.nsn4sjk.com, where they can compete for several different titles and rally friends to their team. Partakers will gather on Friday, October 31st, at the CMA building to photograph their freshly shaved faces before the competition gets underway. This year, Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood, who has been appointed as 2014 Chairman of the Beard, is ready to put his best foot forward.

“I’ve visited St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital many times and participated in No Shave November last year and loved it, so for me it was a no brainer to say yes to being Chairman of the Beard,” says Haywood. “Fellas let’s all put down our razors for the month of November in support of this great cause! St. Jude does incredible work and brings hope to so many families and the least we can do is not touch the razor and beard trimmers all month long in support. Don’t fear the beard! If you ask me, I’m All About That Beard, ‘Bout that Beard, No Stubble.”

Kiefer Thompson, of the duo Thompson Square and last year’s Chairman of the Beard, hopes to defend his crown as the multi-year top fundraiser.

“It’s another year and team Thompson Square, once again, is going to bring the beard baby!” Thompson added, “We’ve been blessed to raise the most money for the last two years and we plan on raising even more this year. If you want to be on a winning team join team ‘Thompson’ and let’s take it home again. T2 square beards unite!”

No Shave November is using all platforms to encourage the music industry to recruit as many men (and dedicated women) as possible to join the team, and to donate at least $30 to St. Jude. In 2013, NSN raised an impressive $220,000 for the organization, with $396,000 raised over the past three years to support St. Jude.
