Darius Rucker Serves Up Tons of Fun at Camp

Our favorite country music cross over and now permanent fixture, Darius Rucker stopped by Victory Junction on Monday. While at the camp Darius had just as much fun as the kids fishing, playing kick ball, and doing what he does best- singing!

The camp founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam opened in 2004. The mission of the camp is to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions.

Darius plans to return in November to hold a private concert to benefit Victory Junction on Kyle and Pattie’s farm in Trinity.

Dierks Bentley – I am a Fan!

It is a good morning.  I have all but recovered from a hot and beautiful day of great country music. Dierks Bentley hosted his third annual Miles and Music for Kids Benefit for Monroe Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and it was amazing.

I started the day out at the Harley Davidson shop in Cool Springs where all of the motorcycle riders gathered to begin their ride down to Riverfront Park in Nashville. Before everyone got started we got to see a ton of country artists ride in on their motocycles while a few would stop for casual autographs and pictures with the fans who would be riding with them.

I was lucky enough to catch Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum riding in. He was VERY nice and stuck around for quite a few autographs and pictures with fans.

Yep, that’s me – all smiles and giggles. Hot, Hot, Hot!  Really, it was hot outside.  : )

Charles only sang one song when we got down to Riverfront Park.  I must say, I was a bit disapppoined.  It was not a Lady Antebellum song but I supposed I will take what I can get when the rest of the group isn’t there.  He sang Tom Petty’s “Last Dace with Mary Jane”.

Once everyone arrived at Harley Davidson, Dierks and the gang got up on stage to thank everyone for coming out to help raise money for Monroe Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

I must give it to this hunky country man.  He was up all night with his wife in labor and still came out to rock it with his fans.

Here are a few pictures of the guys goofing off on stage.

Once we were given the “riding rules” for the day everyone got on their bikes and headed down to Nashville’s Riverfront Park where the real party got started.

There were so many people there to help support this great cause. People from all genres of music. Country, Christian, Race Car Drivers. You name it they were there.

Tim McGraw, John Rich, Charles Kelly, Jamey Johnson, Halfway to Hazard, the Warren Brothers, Kyle Petty, Stormy Warren who hosted the event, Troy Gentry was there but didn’t sing and kept pretty low key all day and music video producer Shawn Silva. There were a few others who performed but I am at a loss for who they were right now. I will update when my mind catches up with everything that happened yesterday.

The performances were awesome! John Rich just killed it! He was unbelievable. That man has every right to be cocky and arrogant. He rocks!

Tim McGraw should have performed longer, he only did three songs but they were amazing. There is nothing better that hearing a great artist like him perform acoustic.

I have a TON of picture to share with you from the day. Just visit our MySpace page at: www.myspace.com/countrymusictattletale to see them all.

If you were at the event email me at countrymusictattletale@yahoo.com and let me know what you thought!

I will definitely return next year and the year after that and the year after that! Dierks called it an institution last night so I am assuming that he plans to do this for many years to come!
