What a way to unofficially kick off our CMA Fest week. I headed down to the Grand Ole Opry plaza stages tonight to take in some free music from Kate & Kacey Coppola and Jeffrey Steele.
Other than the mean woman sitting behind me the crowd was on their feet and having a great time. I had my kids with me so tonight was more about fun than work and paying attention to the set list.
Kate & Kacey took the stage and have a real presence. They sang five songs and then stayed to talk, sign autographs and take pictures with all of their fans. I am very excited to learn more about these ladies later this week.
Jeffrey Steele always commands the stage when he sings. People stand up and notice him. He is not only a fantastic song writer but also a great entertainer. He was gracious enough to sign a lyric sheet for us of “What Hurts the Most”. If you want your chance to own it….keep an eye out for our upcoming charity auction in July. LoCash Cowboys came out and sang two songs with Jeffrey tonight – sorry I didn’t get any pictures. The joys of having my children with me. : ) Check out your CMA Fest schedule and make sure to check these guys out. They are a high energy show definitely worth checking out!
Tomorrow is going to be our “official” kick off to CMA Fest 2009. We are very excited to bring you all of the latest CMA Fest information, interviews and fun directly from CMA Fest! Keep an eye out on our website for fun contests, prize give aways and more!
Also, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/cmtt) as we will be constantly updating it throughout the week.
The Starkey Hearing Foundation, with the help of Big Machine Records and Music City Merchandise, will be fitting more than 100 children and adults with hearing instruments during CMA Fest at no cost. Some of these people will hear for the first time. Many artists will join in the cause including Chuck Wicks, Sunny Sweeney, Kate and Kacey, and more.
