Jason Jones Makes Grand Ole Opry Debut

Jason Jones, made his Grand Ole Opry debut on the renowned stage Saturday, October 1st performing “Ferris Wheel” along with his new single, “You’re My Favorite.” The songs are from his self-titled digital SIX PAK and will be featured on his forthcoming full-length debut produced by Brett Beavers (Dierks Bentley). Jason joined Laura Bell Bundy, Jimmy Dickens, Mike Snider, among others in the line-up for Saturday’s show.

A native of Wakulla, Florida, Jones is a songwriter, guitarist, and singer, with an immediately irresistible alto-tenor voice that is guaranteed to lift listeners 100 feet off the ground. Jones will have country music fans soaring all across the country as he is currently out on the road visiting radio and playing shows nationwide in support of his music, which includes his current single “You’re My Favorite.”

The Opry is Jammin’ During CMA Music Festival

Country music’s most famous show is jamming during one of country music’s most exciting weeks, as the Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® is hosting five star-packed Opry shows, a free Music Fest kick-off Opry Plaza Party, benefit guitar auction, popular artist signings, and more during CMA Music Festival week June 7 – 12.

Two Opry shows Tues., June 7 featuring Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Darius, Rucker, Oak Ridge Boys, Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson, and Jerrod Niemann are sold out, but fans are invited to party with Niemann and newcomers Edens Edge during a free Opry Plaza Party presented by Humana that evening beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets are still available for other Opry performances, including Fri., June 10, when American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina will make their Grand Ole Opry debuts less than two weeks after this season’s Idol finale. Among others on the Opry that night are Billy Ray Cyrus and Randy Travis, who will be signing copies of his CD “25th Anniversary Celebration” in The Opry Shop before the show.

The 3rd Annual Guitars of the Stars Benefit Auction, set for 4 p.m. Thurs., June 9 in Hall of Fame Park, will feature free performances by Steve Wariner and Josh Thompson and will include guitars created or inspired by Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and more. Wariner and Thompson will also spend part of their day greeting fans at Opry Originals at the corner of the 3rd and Broadway, as will a host of other stars throughout the week, including Craig Morgan, Mel Tillis, and Mark Wills. The Opry is Globetrotting Tonight and on QVC this Friday

Country music’s most famous stage is preparing to welcome some of the country’s most famous showmen tonight, as the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters pay an Opry visit to perform their basketball wizardry alongside some of the most awarded acts in country music including Opry members Charlie Daniels, Diamond Rio, Jimmy Dickens, and George Jones plus new hit-maker Josh Thompson.

Both the Opry and the Globetrotters are currently celebrating 85 years of unique American entertainment. Globetrotters Scooter Christensen, Hi-Lite Bruton, and Ant Atkinson will entertain at the Opry, and the trio and their teammates will return to Nashville in the spring to face the Washington Generals on April 14 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

The Grand Ole Opry is scheduled to unveil a new line of Opry-branded women’s apparel on QVC® Friday, October 22 at 11 AM (ET).

During the special Grand Ole Opry—Fashion broadcast, Nan Kelley, host of Opry Live and other programs on GAC (Great American Country), is scheduled to showcase the collection while sharing her stories and memorable Opry moments.

Opry Comes Home to the Grand Ole Opry House TONIGHT

Country music is set to return to the Grand Ole Opry House tonight, and fans will be able to watch a live stream of the historic show at opry.com, ustream.com/opry,GACTV.com, and participating artists’ websites beginning at 8 p.m. Central. Among the stars scheduled for the history-making show are Jason Aldean,Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels Band, Jimmy Dickens, Martina McBride, Del McCoury, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, and Keith Urban. The Opry is returning to the Opry House for the first time since having been displaced by May’s Nashville flood. The show will also air on GAC.

In advance of and during the show, fans can follow their favorite artists via “Home Tweet Home,” an all-day live Twitter feed from the Opry House. CMA Male Vocalist of the Year nominees Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley will be among the artists adding their own tweets to official Opry tweets providing updates from the newly-renovated backstage area at the Opry House.

Fans can follow the Opry on Twitter (@opry) and can include the hashtag #opry in their personal tweets to interact with the Opry and artists, plus be entered to win prizes during the show. Paisley (@BradPaisley), Bentley (@DierksBentley), and others will share their personal observations through Twitter as they interact with the night’s all-star cast.
In addition to its September 28th return to the Opry House, the Opry will celebrate its 85th Birthday throughout October, with shows featuring appearances by Adkins, Charlie Daniels Band, George Jones, The Judds, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Taylor Swift, and more.
