Miranda Lambert Sets Nashville ‘On Fire’

Miranda Lambert- On FireMiranda Lambert- On Fire

Miranda Lambert brought her On Fire tour to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena last night. The tour lived-up to it’s name, leaving the audience a-blaze and no way to put it out. The tour standards Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young, and Miranda impressed, but true to Nashville special guest Blake Shelton and Miranda’s girl trio The Pistol Annies added fuel to the flame.

Jerrod NIemann

Unlike most opening acts, Jerrod Niemann needs no training in crowd interaction. He worked the stage and left his mark on the hands of nearby fans as he performed his hits “What Do You Want,” “Lover, Lover,” “One More Drinkin Song,” and his current single “Shinin On Me.”

Chris YOungChris Young

Chris Young looked truly glad to be home, or as close to home as he can get.   the crowd erupted in applause and screams, Chris beamed. He worked the crowd with his puppy dog eyes, and impressive list of songs that included “Gettin You Home,” “You,” “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” as well as some new songs.

It’s obvious that Miranda Lambert has spent the last ten years perfecting her tour. She knows exactly who she is, what the crowd expects, and what she has to do to get the job done. Entertaining a massive crowd appears to be effortless for her. It doesn’t hurt that her career has supplied her with plenty of sing-a-long hits. Her nearly two-hour set included hits such as “White Liar,” “Kerosene,” “Gun Powder and Lead,” “The House that Built Me,” “Dead Flowers,” “Only Prettier,” “Baggage Claim,” “Famous in a Small Town,” and “Over You.”

The Pistol Annies

Just over halfway through her set, she invited her gal pals, The Pistol Annies to come out and sing a couple of their fan favorite tunes “Hell on Heels” and “Takin Pills.”

Later on, Miranda also invited her hubby, Blake Shelton, out to perform “Honey Bee.” The couple performed the last half of the song together.

The night ended with a sing-a-long of sorts with the entire group performing Roger Miller’s “King of the Road.”

True to form, we took entirely too many pictures and you can see them all here.

Jerrod Niemann to Premier New Video Tomorrow!

Jerrod Niemann

With a platinum-selling hit “Lover, Lover,” a No. 1 Billboard Country Album Chart debut Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury, and a current spot on the bill with Miranda Lambert on her On Fire Tour, the sun is certainly shining on Jerrod Niemann these days. Perhaps that’s why the upbeat, feel-good song, “Shinin’ On Me,” which is the debut single from his forthcoming Fall album, resonates with Niemann and his loyal fans, and is currently climbing up the country radio charts. On Monday, May 21 AOL’s TheBoot.com will host the exclusive worldwide premiere of the “Shinin’ On Me” music video. Fans will also be able to view it on GAC and CMT beginning Tuesday, May 22nd when it will become available on VEVO and all streaming partners.

The video was directed by Chris Hicky and was filmed at the Family Wash in East Nashville, telling the story of a lowly, overworked businessman who needs to let loose and have a little fun. Jam-packed with performance footage of Niemann and his band in a sun-filled barroom, the video pans from the jaded businessman’s life to a Spring Break-like celebration of drinking, dancing and having a good time – leading to a resolution viewers will just have to wait to see.

The song, “Shinin’ On Me,” includes horns in its production, just a small taste of what fans can expect to hear on his forthcoming sophomore album which is set to hit stores this Fall. The album is being co-produced by Dave Brainard and Niemann and tracked on analogue equipment to create a brasswind-infused sound reminiscent of classic hits such as “Ring of Fire” (Johnny Cash) and “Women I’ve Never Had” (Hank Williams, Jr.).

“I feel like making an album with horns is definitely a risky step, but my favorite thing about it is that it gives my listeners a taste of something unique,” Niemann says. “I have been watching people react to my music out on the road for years, and because I have the feeling that people are actually listening, it makes me more inspired to become a better musician, producer, songwriter, artist and really give them something different, and a sound that I love.”

Niemann will soon commence his own solo tour playing fairs and festivals across the country after he finishes his trek on the On Fire Tour.

Lee Brice Celebrates “A Woman Like You” #1

Lee Brice

He’s written No. 1 singles for Garth Brooks (“More Than A Memory”) and Eli Young Band (“Crazy Girl”), but Lee Brice celebrated a chart-topper like no other Tuesday (5/15).

“We’ve worked a long time and now we’re sitting here as an artist,” Brice said before the party honoring “A Woman Like You.” “It feels great in that way. All the work we’ve put in is paying off.”

Fellow artists Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young and LoCash Cowboys’ Preston Brust were in attendance. Brice’s label president Mike Curb also spoke, noting, “Lee, you’re going to be singing this song for the rest of your life.”
