So You Think You Have What It Takes?

Jeffrey Steele is gearing up for his 4th Annual Songwriting Boot Camp at BMI’s Music Row offices September 10-13.   3 Ring Circus Music is currently searching for 12 up-and-comers who will be selected to attend the three-day, two-night career-building experience, spearheaded by Jeffrey, who remains one of contemporary music’s most consistent hit makers.

Throughout the weekend, attendees will participate in co-writing sessions in pairs, benefit from one-on-one coaching from Jeffrey and engage in additional industry-focused activities. As alumni, boot campers will join the ranks of graduates who have gone on to score publishing deals, compose songs recorded by key artists, and in the case of Jennifer Adan, co-write #1 singles (Blake Shelton’s “She Wouldn’t Be Gone”).

WHAT AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!

Applications are available on www.jeffreysteele.net/bootcamp and are due by August 1.  For more information on Jeffrey Steele and 3 Ring Circus Music, please visit www.jeffreysteele.net.

The 3rd Annual Alex LeVasseur Memorial Skate & Music Festival

Jeffrey Steele LoCash Cowboys

My family had a great time at the 3rd Annual Alex LeVasseur Memorial Skate & Music Festival on Sunday afternoon.  It was held at Jim Warren Park in Franklin, TN and was free to the public.  There were tents set up everywhere with food, drinks and plenty of things for the kids to do.

Unfortunately, I didn’t make it there until after Pearl Heart and Ricky Young & Red White Blue performed.  I was really disappointed to miss Pearl Heart.  Jeffrey Steele told us amazing things about the girls when we ran into him at CMA Fest this year.

We did make it just in time for my son to see the awesome 6th Ave/Franklin Skate Shop Demo.  These boys on skateboards were doing amazing things.  And that is what this entire festival was about.  The Alex LeVassuer Foundation raises money and works in conjunction with Sixth Avenue skate park in Nashville to aide overlooked and underprivileged youth by creating programs to keep them motivated in school and life through skating! You can find out more information at: http://www.rememberalex.com/

We also made it in time to watch one of my favorite up and coming duo’s.  LoCash Cowboys!  These brothers are amazing on stage.  They have that “it” factor to them with a crazy side that you are sure to fall in love with.  They have a brand new album coming out very soon and will give you a date as soon as we have one.  Check out our YouTube Video of them singing Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean”.

Jeffrey Steele took the stage after LoCash and as usual doesn’t disappoint his crowd.  I wasn’t able to stay for his entire set but what we were able to see was great.   Singing number one songs that he wrote for Rascal Flatts, a few Montgomery Gentry party songs and one of my favorites “Get Right With the Man”.

Gavin DeGraw Gavin DeGraw

I almost forgot one of my favorite parts of the whole day!  Gavin DeGraw took the stage and sang three songs.  A really great surprise for the day!  I know he’s not “country” but that man’s voice makes my knees buckle.

I wish that we could have stayed for the entire show but my kids are still young and at an age where when it’s time to go it’s time to go.  It’s definitely an event that we will have on our calendar again next year.

Please go to www.rememberalex.com to find out more information about the foundation and how you can help.

You can see all of our pictures from the event on our Flickr page.

Jeffrey Steele & Kate and Kacey at the Opry Plaza

What a way to unofficially kick off our CMA Fest week.  I headed down to the Grand Ole Opry plaza stages tonight to take in some free music from Kate & Kacey Coppola and Jeffrey Steele

Other than the mean woman sitting behind me the crowd was on their feet and having a great time.  I had my kids with me so tonight was more about fun than work and paying attention to the set list.

Kate & Kacey took the stage and have a real presence.  They sang five songs and then stayed to talk, sign autographs and take pictures with all of their fans.  I am very excited to learn more about these ladies later this week.

Jeffrey Steele always commands the stage when he sings.  People stand up and notice him.  He is not only a fantastic song writer but also a great entertainer.  He was gracious enough to sign a lyric sheet for us of “What Hurts the Most”.  If you want your chance to own it….keep an eye out for our upcoming charity auction in July.    LoCash Cowboys came out and sang two songs with Jeffrey tonight – sorry I didn’t get any pictures.  The joys of having my children with me. : )   Check out your CMA Fest schedule and make sure to check these guys out.  They are a high energy show definitely worth checking out!

Tomorrow is going to be our “official” kick off to CMA Fest 2009.  We are very excited to bring you all of the latest CMA Fest information, interviews and fun directly from CMA Fest!  Keep an eye out on our website for fun contests, prize give aways and more!

Also, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/cmtt) as we will be constantly updating it throughout the week.

LoCash Cowboys at CRS – Fun, Loud & Worth Seeing!

WOW!  That is the first word that comes to mind when I hear LoCash Cowboys.  These guys are GREAT!  They have an energy about them that makes you want to smile.

Country Music Tattle Tale had the pleasure to sit down with them (numerous times) during CRS week.

LoCash Cowboys is made up of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust.  The energy that comes from these two is infectious.  They have a sense of humor that can outlast the best of them and a sensitive side that I think many will be surprised to hear about.

Check our our interview from the LoCash Tour Bus at CRS (somewhere camera have never been before!)  This interview has been chopped up into three parts so make sure to watch all 3 parts.  You don’t want to miss anything!

For more information about LoCash Cowboys check out their website and MySpace page.

ALSO -CHECK BACK LATER THIS WEEK FOR OUR SECOND INTERVIEW WITH LOCASH COWBOYS AND JEFFREY STEELE.
