Country Throwdown Tour Kicks Off With a BANG at the Bluebird Cafe

The Country Throwdown Tour 2010 is set to officially kick off May 13 through June 20 but if you were in Nashville last Wednesday you had a rare opportunity to see 8 talented singer/songwriters sit down for a special acoustic show in preparation for the Throwdown tour.

Ashley Ray, Brad Tursi, Dave Pahanish, Jedd Hughes, Sarah Buxton, Walker Hayes and Heather Morgan gave fans and music lovers a sneak peak of what we can expect during the tour at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. It was an evening full of fun, friends and phenomenal music.

When you see all of these artists together you can tell they all have a special relationship and most of them are friends outside of their music.  The chemistry in this group in undeniable and the music is a breathe of fresh air.

Ashley, Brad, Dave, Jedd, Sarah, Walker and Heather will be playing in the Bluebird Café Tent at all of the Country Throwdown Tour dates. Fans will get to see these artists perform intimate “In the Round”-type sets in the Bluebird Café Tent throughout the day, as well as see them play nightly on a specially designed stage during the main stage set changes.

Headliners for this tour are: Headliners Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Little Big Town and Jack Ingram.  Other artists scheduled to appear are  Eric Church, the Eli Young Band, Jonathan Singleton & The Grove, Lost Trailers, Ryan Bingham and Emily West, with more artists to be announced.

Sarah Buxton’s Audience Listens – A Fan Review

Sarah Buxton

Our good friend “Trigger183″  is always on the prowl looking for up and coming singer/songwriters and performers.  He has certainly found a favorite in Sarah Buxton.  With her upcoming album and single “Outside My Window” I am excited to hear that her live performances are selling out and that her fans are a strong force that will help take her to that next level in country music.

Last night I went to see Sarah Buxton perform at 2nd Avenue Live in Nashville. The show was awesome!!! She performed with Jedd Hughes and Hugh Mitchell, both outstanding singer/songwriter/performers, and started the show with a few of her previous hits (or cuts that would be hits if radio knew what it was doing) like “American Daughter” and “Outside My Window”. Then she and the new band, for this evening, had the place dancing and singing along while they blasted through some new material that she and Jedd Hughes have been writing for the last several weeks. Outstanding tracks include “Mr. Gideon”, “I’ll Be Your Blue Sky”, “Radio Love”. She also included “Space” and “Stupid Boy” as part of the evening’s set list. At one point Jedd Hughes commented that “the place was so quiet, it was supposed to be a party” and Sarah responded, “It’s okay…they are listening…” which brought tremendous round of applause and cheering from the audience. As usual, after the show, Sarah and the band all hung around for autographs, pictures and chit-chat. Several times during the evening, I heard audience members comment that this combination of Hughes and Buxton could blow away the likes of Sugarland, Lady Antebellum with their chemistry and performance on stage. I truly believe that Sarah’s rendition of her song “Stupid Boy” would quickly top Keith Urban’s version should she choose to release it on her own.
