J.D. Shelburne – We Told You About Him!

Remember the review we got from Robin in Louisville, KY last month.  She spoke wonders about J.D. Shelburne and it looks like Country Weekly has lots of good stuff to say about him to!  The new issue hit stands today.  Go out and pick up a copy.

We are working on getting an interview with J.D so we can formally introduce you to him! : )

Watch Out For J.D. Shelburne

J.D. Shelburne was a wonderful surprise on a Saturday night in Louisville, Kentucky at the King Pin Bowling Lanes in Jeffersontown. This was a small venue for his band of 5 to play. Considering the acoustics in the lounge, we were pleased with the sound. We were out on the town for a personal celebration of our own and decided to see who the live music would be there tonight. Boy, were we surprised. But it’s only because we hadn’t been keeping up with the up and coming talent in Nashville.

Obviously this band has been working hard for a while trying to make a name for themselves and they have the following to show it. The band is from Kentucky with J.D. being from Taylorsville…the next town over from us! The band played a huge selection of top country artist hits, some oldies but goodies thrown in there too and several of their very own songs, The Real Thing, My Kentucky Home (which touched the heart of this homegrown Kentucky girl) and Home to You. If the show we saw tonight is any indication of his talent, we look forward to hearing his CD.

J.D. Shelburne’s first Nashville CD will be released February 23 and this girl will be first in line to buy it! He’s got that cute, natural country boy look that is going to melt hearts in the country audiences I’m sure about that!

He will be featured in Country Weekly in the February 23 issue which comes out on the stands the first week of March and you can access his song “The Real Thing” on the CW site.

I had the privilege of talking to him and his father (his biggest fan!) and got quite a bit of information. He is currently living in Nashville. Last year during the Kentucky Derby festivities he opened for Kelly Pickler at Churchill Downs. Two weeks ago he opened for Joe Nichols in Clarksville, Tennessee. This past fall he was a regular at the Nashville Palace. And next Friday, he will be headlining at Cadillac Ranch in Nashville.

A special thanks to Robin for sending us the review from Saturday night.  Check out J.D’s MySpace page to hear some of his music and check out his tour schedule.
