Taylor Swift has wrapped-up her MASSIVE Speak Now World Tour last night with two very special guests. Taylor performed “Fire and Rain” with the legendary James Taylor. She also performed “Who Says” with her good friend, Selena Gomez.

It must be strange to see something you’ve worked on for so long come to an end…But what a way to go.

Tonight Is Country Night At The White House

 

The White House goes country later today as a part of a special concert that tops off a day of student workshops about the history and cultural significance of country music. The performers include Lauren Alaina, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Darius Rucker and James Taylor. The concert will stream live from the White House website, www.whitehouse.gov/live starting at 7 tonight, Eastern time.  It will also air Wednesday on PBS.

Taylor Swift Makes Top 3 Grossing Tours of 2010 so Far

Pollstar.com has released the top grossing tours of 2010 so far, and country music is representing in a big way.  Bon Jovi  and James Taylor/Carole King take the top two spots, but third top grossing tour of 2010 so far is Taylor Swift with $34.2 million so far and over half a million tickets sold. The George Strait / Reba / Lee Ann Womack tour rounds out the top five with $29.8 million.

You can see the entire list here. Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, and Martina McBride/Trace Adkins all make the top 100 North American Grossing Tours so far of 2010.

Country Music Steps Out to Support MusiCares Concert

The stars are lining up and signing up to perform at the upcoming MusiCares concert honoring Neil Young. Stars like Lady Antebellum, k.d. lang, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Crosby Stills and Nash, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews, Elton John and many more. The concert is January 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Along with honoring Neil Young, the MusiCares concert is a fundraiser for emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs for those in the music industry.
